The truth is, I hate dating. The thought of dating makes me want to say "Never mind, I'm good !" Buttttt.... I AM good ! I'm better than good ~ I'm amazing. And that's why I'm not giving up on finding the ONE I'm meant to share my life with !The cup is definitely half full. I believe I can do anything I set my mind to. You can't tame my faith, but I'll give to a cause before an offering plate. I LOVE my kids, my family & my friends. I'd love to have a workout partner but life could be our gym. I'm as happy spending the night in vegging on the couch as I am going out for dinner & drinks with friends. My home is my haven. I can make any place beautiful ~ and deeply need to do so ! (I am an interior design goddess.) I expect honesty, I can work with that, or choose not to. ;) I believe in the golden rule & do my best to live it. I believe you can express your feelings in very few words ~ because it's actions that speak the loudest. I want the ****ing fairytale ! An ideal first date would be lunch, "drinks after work", or coffee. Basically meeting some place lax to just chat, & see if there's chemistry.

Being an English teacher, I enjoy reading, writing, and movies that have an interesting plot. However, I also like to let my hair down and go out and play pool or dance. As my main picture shows, I'm comfortable in many different social situations. I can play pool with the locals one weekend and get dressed up for the ballet the next. I'm versatile. My life has taken some interesting turns, and I am learning that I never know what it has to offer or what might be taken away. Being a planner is part of my nature, but I understand the importance of living each day and not trying to plan or control what comes next. Don't get me wrong, I can still plan with a vengeance when it is necessary and appropriate. I'm organized but not rigid, plan oriented but flexible... In answer to the what-are-you-looking-for questions: I have a basic idea of what I want, but if I am too rigid in my expectations, I might miss something unexpected and equally as satisfying as what I thought I wanted. Most of us hope for a relationship at some point in the future, as do I, but that doesn't mean I'm looking to hook a husband. Some dates can result in finding a friend with whom I can go to wineries, plays, etc. even if there is no romantic connection. Some dates are complete disasters that result in the desire never to see the other person again. Some dates can be intriguing enough to result in a second date. One never knows, so I hesitate to say I have the same intent each time I meet someone. I truly believe "the unexamined life is not worth living." Most of all it is my sense of humor that has gotten me through the tough times. Even my students think I'm funny...most of the time. They also say I'm tough but fair. When I'm not there, they miss me, and that, I believe, speaks volumes.Don't worry about the red pen, though, I usually don't whip it out on the first date.A humorous poem I wrote about internet dating:So many men, so little time. It’s like the Wal-She had to hurry while still in her prime. But how should she go about rating? One man was posing with a large fish. She did not point the mouse and click. He could not fulfill her wish.He was probably compensating for a small…Flick went her wrist as she moved on.She saw short men, tall men, fat and skinny. If she kept looking, she would find “the one.”Surely some were smart, if not many.To find “the one” she would search near and far.She would persevere; she would be brave. This one loves his motorcycle and car.Another is looking for a sex slave. She read many profiles, saw many pics. This one was bald, another one handsome. If she kept going, she would learn the tricks. But could any of these men make her…“Come on, girl,” she spoke aloud.“From this website you must depart. You won’t find your man where boys abound.”Mr. Right is not on the shelf at Wal-If you've read this far, perhaps you'll take my quiz..."21 Things I Want In a Lover" by Alanis MorissetteDo you derive joy when someone else succeeds?Do you not play dirty when engaged in competition?Do you have a big intellectual capacityBut know that it alone does not equate wisdom?Do you see everything as an illusionBut enjoy it even though you are not of it?Are you both masculine and feminine?Politically aware and don't believe in capital punishment? These are 21 things that I want in a loverNot necessarily needs but qualities that I preferDo you derive joy from diving in and seeing thatLoving someone can actually feel like freedom? Are you funny? a la self-deprecatingLike adventure and have many formed opinions? These are 21 things that I want in a loverNot necessarily needs but qualities that i preferI figure I can describe it since I have a choice in the matterThese are 21 things I choose to choose in a loverI'm in no hurry I could wait foreverI'm in no rush 'cause I like being soloNo worries and certainly no pressure in the meantimeI'll live like there's no tomorrowAre you uninhibited in bed more than three times a weekUp for being experimental? Are you athletic? Are you thriving in a job that helps your brother? Are you not addicted?... curious and communicative? Don't take me for coffee. I despise the stuff. A glass of red wine would be much better. Let's not go see a movie on the first date. How can we get to know each other if we don't have an opportunity to interact? I like surprises and unique experiences. That doesn't mean, though, that I want to go sky diving. Italian food, good conversation and a few glasses of wine are never a bad idea. But I'm open. Surprise me.
