About Me

They never tell you how hard this really is. You watch countless romantic comedies and gain an unrealistic view of what dating and romance will be like. I myself, am addicted to such movies. I guess my question is, am I damaged because of this, or does such life changing, agonizing, 'I can't live without you" love actually exist?First off, I have to say that I have THE WORST luck when it comes to dating lol... I have a talent for only attracting people I have no interest in dating. how does that happen?!?!? lolI am here (yes, still) because I find it hard to meet guys out in the real world... I mean, I am a very social person, don't get me wrong... I just don't know where to look. I enjoy the pubs, but do you really want to try and start a relationship in a bar? Let's face it... We all know how the night will end if that happens ;) Friends of mine tell me that it happened for them when they least expected it, it the most random places. Well, I been been in countless libraries, grocery stores, school hallways, coffee shops and have ridden the bus for 15 years!!! Still...I guess I don't really fit any molds when it comes to cliques of people. I listen to most types of music, but prefer punk/folk/rock/metal/indie/ska. I do listen some rap, and a very very little bit of country. And other genres or sub genres of any of these are usually a go. I like to wear skate shoes, not heels. I like to take pride in my appearance but am by no means high maintenance. I am just as comfortable in a skirt and blazer as I am in a hoodie and jeans. (I will add however, the latter is usually my clothing of choice) I like movies and tv and books. if you want to know more about that just ask.Since this is technically a dating site, I have written this profile to reflect that.     Honestly, I never thought I would be back here...but, things happen and here I am. Even as a high school English teacher, I find it ridiculously hard to write about myself so now I know the pain my students go through when they hear the words "personal narrative." As a divorced single mom of an awesome ***year old boy, I stay pretty busy with the best little guy around, but I want to have someone special in my life. I love my job and have an amazing group of students that makes coming to work every day worth it. I love to cook and bake and probably would have made a great 50's housewife...minus the stay at home with the kids thing. Being a working mom makes me a better mom. I try and get to the gym several times a week because, unbelievably, I discovered a few years ago that not only is working out a great reliever of stress but that I actually ENJOY it. I am looking for someone to spend quality time with. Who is willing to think outside of the box and try new things. Someone who will take risks and is not afraid to date a mom with a great kid...so someone who loves kids.
