I am very passionate about living life as if it were an adventure. I really don't let life's bumps in the road get to me. Each one is meant to teach me something new and help me to live up to the next challenge to come. My dogs are my best friends. Their unconditional love inspires me to look for that in my personal life. Sports are an important part of my life. They keep me young. I have been playing tennis most of my life and was captain of my high school tennis team. I also like to run which I try to do daily. While I live in the deep South now, I am a transplant from the north. I do miss the snow though, so I travel out west or north during the winter months whenever I can. I love to travel to other parts of the world and experience other cultures.- so inspirational! A few years ago, I used to go on dates where I would run a 5K race with the guy I was dating. Not really to win, but to see if he could keep up (or if I could keep up!). I am not as fast as I used to be so I am sure this is would be no challenge now. I always liked the exhilaration when I finished a race, and it was nice to have someone there who appreciated the same thing. The best part was kicking back with a beer at some local pub afterwards. I am not suggesting this as a first date, but I may suggest it on the third date! A first date is an introduction - a trade of information really. I think a public place like a restaurant or wine bar might be a nice place to meet on a first date.

I'm just not everyone's cup of tea, but I guess that is OK since I am happy without having to have a man in my life. I just would like to have someone to do things with and talk to on a regular basis, but no, I won't lower my standards. Sorry. I am self employed which means I don't make money unless I am working - and I work a lot. My schedule varies and can change at a moment's notice. So, I don't have time to have a pen pal. In my experience, it is better to meet sooner and determine if there is any attraction at all, rather than wasting time developing a "relationship" via chat, *** - and then meet and find out 'WOW' that's not gonna work. Been there/done that. Writing takes up much of my free time, and I live a "writer's life" which means I don't have a lot of material things, but I have what I need. Pets are important to me, so if you have issues with a little pet hair on your Armani suit that's not gonna work. If you show up for a date in overalls, that's not gonna work either. Volunteering is also an important part of my life and I work with some national animal rescues, and I also mentor other writers and host a local writers' group. If you have a life beyond your ***job that helps make the world a better place, you get extra points :) Initially, I tried to respond to everyone who sent an *** became much too time consuming, since apparently some did not read what were my non-negotiables and wrote anyhow. If I favorite you, I'm interested! Please write :) Non-Negotiables: Smoking -- I don't date smokers. Trying to quit is still a smoker Intelligence -- Can you carry a conversation past the weather? Great! Humor-- You must have a sense of humor, and know how to use it! Nascar -- if you live, breathe and eat Nascar ***GOOD is required. Enough said. If you take offense to my little personal rant/profile, I apologize, but please don't send me *** how wrong I am about what I have written. I would rather wait for the right one to make their way to my world, than try to fit the wrong one into those shoes. I should hope that your outlook on relationships would be the same. HA HA! I just realized meetville has me listed as a Capricorn - not. I'm an Aquarian --if that makes a difference! :) I'll let you decide :)
