About Me

I'm a good hearted woman. If someone needs something, and I've got it, I'll give it to them. Drives my family crazy, but, it's my money, and doing things for people who are in need, just brings me pure joy. Speaking of pure joy, my family is my world, even though they're all busy with lives of their own. (Anyone know the "Cats in the cradle" song)...lol It's simple, I'm looking for a partner, for life. No games please, no drama, just fun, quiet or loud, joy, time in the nook, family first, love for animals, anything outdoors. I'm looking for that "chemistry", for that connection that you know how I feel before I even feel it. That connection that--I know your different looks, your different inflections on the phone---I know what you need, without you talking at all, and vice versa. I don't think that is too much to ask do you? Well, I'm not settling. I'm going to find my man. And when I do, we'll be in it together, have each other's backs, and be there every morning and every night. I love anything to do with water, rainy Sundays. I'm working on my health. Eating better, exercising, more sunlight, more fresh air. Amazing results. If you're looking for a one-nighter, looking for just a good time--move on to another gal. I'm not that kind of girl. But, if you're looking for someone to be your partner in everything, for the rest of your life...drop me a note. This may sound so serious, but, it's just my life, and what I'm looking for. No more "dating marathons". I know you're out there....come on home already.P.S. Just so all of you who ask for a full pic of me.....I weigh 131# and am 5"2...........there you go.....and I'm definitely working on my health, and have lost 21 pounds this summer, with another 20, I'll be just where I want to be 110#..................LOL First Date Hummmm...well...maybe something a little more interesting than coffee, or dinner and a movie..lol We'll decide together.P.S. My pic is worse than my driver's license, but, I'm not a model, and not a covergirl who gets the luxury of airbrushing...lol

.,,"About me"?...hmmm, let's see... I’m a thoughtful, introspective person who often sees the funny side of things and likes to laugh. I’m honest, forthright, questioning, and always growing. Many times I’m quiet, but can be loud and boisterous given the right situation. I often make people laugh, though they sometimes roll their eyes ***! I’m always looking for the positive and always seeking connections. I have an adventurous spirit and will try almost anything...and sometimes logic eludes me! (My significant other will relish this, and laugh with me when I laugh at myself!) I enjoy learning, and do my best to keep up with current events (mostly current issue magazines, public radio, PBS), good literature (classics, contemporary, philosophical***and enjoy discussions about the same. I’m looking for a synergistic relationship -someone who brings out the best in me and for whom I can do the same. I'm looking for someone to know and to love the deepest parts of me and who will share his deepest self with me. At the same time I want a fun and sexy relationship - someone who glances at me from afar and believes there's no one sexier in the room, and is proud to have me for his mate. Someone who wants to keep things fresh and alive, and who is willing to work and communicate in order to keep it that way.I don't believe that anyone should need another person in order to be complete, and I believe a relationship is enhanced when each person is free to pursue his or her own individual interests. Yet I know what it feels like to be with someone and feel as though I've "come home to myself" (to feel most like myself when I'm with him) and that's who I hope to find. Quaint coffee shop or place to talk over a glass of wine.

I love thunderstorms and the wind howling and the desert and deep woods. I like to watch sports with a man who knows a lot about them and likes even better, to play them. I love to dance and pray and get my hands in the dirt. I love action movies, old westerns, Shakespeare and slap-stick comedies. I love to see what is just around the bend and be in my jammies by 8. I am cheerful at 5am sans caffeine. I love the sound of a motorcycle reving up under an overpass just because and the deep voice of a man whispering in my ear for the same reason. I prize humility, courage, loyalty, perseverance in a man as I do in myself. I love a man with arms like an anvil and fists like a sledgehammer. And the wisdom to know when to use them and when to count to ten.My father and my son are the two men I have loved and respected most and when I was encouraged by a trusted friend to list 20 attributes I was looking for in someone, I found as I compiled it, that it was a composite of them. Here it is: 1. Between 6'1" and 6'5" in height. 2. Dark blonde hair. 3. Green eyes. 4. Athletically built and a life-long devotee of physical training. 5. Intelligent AND wise (they are not the same!). 6. Well-spoken and well-read. 7. In possession of a quick wit and enjoying poking fun at himself the most. 8. Gifted musically - able to play at least two ***, one of them being either the piano, the guitar, or the bagpipes. 9. Hard-working, personally frugal, but generous to those less fortunate.10.11. A Boy Scout.12. Clean in body - abstaining from all tobacco and recreational drug use. A rare intake of alcohol. 13. A warrior - skilled in a variety of weapons.14. A supporter of Israel.15. Devoted to his mother and courteous towards the female members of the family.16. Gentle and kind to animals and children.17. A man among men -18. Reverent - a fervent love for God encompassing body, mind, and spirit. 19. Faithful - able to withstand temptation, honoring his own integrity.20. Love me in word and deed. I took this list to my father, along with the profiles of the 30 men I thought most commendable. Though he was undergoing radiation and enduring much pain, his ***'s mind was as sharp as ever. He narrowed it down to just three. As I helped my father from his wheelchair to his bed, this man leaped up and lifted him effortlessly, but in doing so, his bounded hair became undone and cascaded over my father's face. And the man who was so "old school", who got his hair trimmed every two weeks, reached up and combed his fingers through the long tendrils and said, "It is so beautiful, Tom. Don't ever cut it." Then my father motioned for me to put a CD on, one of his favorites - "Wild Horses". When it was finished, he took Tom's hand and with tears streaming, softly said, "I have played this for her. Now, you will play it."Two weeks later my father died and joined my son. I was alone now in the world and the man with the beautiful hair had compassion on me and took me under his wing. He is in possession of many, perhaps most of these qualities. Odysseus was not the first, nor the last man to have his ship turned about... ; )But I will say this - every now and then, as I do the dishes, he gets out his guitar and plays "Wild Horses".And most of the time, "Nothing Else Matters..." It's message is one I keep remembering as I wait on Odysseus, the one who would be Anam Cara...to me.KINDNESSBefore you know what kindness really isyou must lose things, feel the future dissolve in a momentlike salt in a weakened broth. What you held in your hand, what you counted and carefully saved, all this must go so you knowhow desolate the landscape can bebetween the regions of kindness. Before you learn the tender gravity of kindness, you must travel where the Indian in a white poncholies dead by the side of the road. You must see how this could be you, how he too was someonewho journeyed through the night with plansand the simple breath that kept him alive. Before you know kindness as the deepest thing inside, you must know sorrow as the other deepest thing. You must wake up with sorrow. You must speak to it till your voicecatches the thread of all sorrowsand you see the size of the cloth. Then it is only kindness that makes any sense anymore, only kindness that ties your shoesand sends you out into the day to mail letters and purchase bread, only kindness that raises its headfrom the crowd of the world to sayIt is I you have been looking for,and then goes with you everywherelike a shadow or a friend. Well, I do like creativity and adventure... ; )
