As is quite common on these dating sites, I am not sure how to describe myself without it sounding like a sales pitch. But here goes nothing! I am honest, sometimes to a fault! (but everyone will tell you they are!) I strive to be a thoughtful, caring, loyal, kind, romantic, adventurous, industrious, free-thinking kind of guy. (I am also the master of the rambling run-on sentence! And that's not even my best quality!!! (pun intended!) I do like to joke around, and have been known to cause mischief! But I can be serious when the need arises. I am searching for knowledge, wisdom, and a deeper understanding of the world we live in. I'd like to think of myself as an intellectual with a strong back, a fool possessing wisdom, a trusting skeptic, an accepted misfit, a city raised country man, and a philosopher in a ball cap...I am a conservative Christian with values, morals, and integrity. I believe in inherent human goodness, and try to show mine on a daily basis. I believe in random acts of kindness. Sometimes the smallest of things mean a lot to someone! I read much, and love to learn new things.I am a strong man who believes in being prepared for whatever life may throw my way. I believe in being self sufficient... some may call me a survivalist, I call myself prepared. I would love to get back into gardening and learn canning, and produce as much of my own food as possible.I am a competitive shooter, primarily handgun, but would like to try long range rifle, and some more sporting clays! Don't be afraid, the real shooters are down to earth and friendly, machismo is only attached to a beginners gun... I am happy to share whatever I have learned. For the not-so-good points; I cannot dance!!! I am stubborn and opinionated, but I base my opinions on fact rather than emotion. I will admit when I'm wrong. I do not back down from an aggressive confrontation, but will always try to find a peaceful solution... I do NOT tolerate people who abuse women or children. I have a low tolerance for liars, users, manipulators, elitists and sheeple, and avoid them like the plague. I do smoke. (but am considerate while smoking.) I am not a morning person. And... I'm bald. Yup, take off that ball cap, and I'll make you squint! Very bald! Good looking scalp though, if I do say so myself! ; I change projects frequently, and sometimes multi-task to the point that I become a little too focused on what I am doing. I am a perfectionist, but I'm trying to learn that not everything needs to be perfect. I may enjoy a good beer now and then, but will never return to my far distant hard partying past. I stay up a little late, but because I want the day to go on just a little longer. I may work a little too much, but I have goals and aspirations that I am working towards.I was in construction for thirty years, but grew tired of it. I have farmed full time for my friends for the last year and a half, which is the first job I can actually say I loved! I am also rebuilding a machine shop/ plastic injection molding shop, while renovating my home. Spare time is not spent in front of the TV. (In fact, I never unpacked my TV when I moved here almost 2 years ago!)I have lived in many different places, and have walked many different roads. And I don't judge by the paths another has walked in the past. No stress, no expectations, no strings. Bunji jumping or skydiving are not my idea of a good first date, everything else can be mutually decided if we click! ;)Oh, and ladies, this works both ways... Well it looks like it's time for an update. I'd like to thank all of the meetville ladies for your patience during my full time Dad days but I am now in an empty nest with more time to date. That's right. Both of my wonderful beautiful daughters are now away at college. That's WMU and MSU for anyone looking for a connection there. It has been an amazing summer with both girls living with me full time but alas, all good things must come to an end. I've had full custody of my youngest for the last three years and she is truly my greatest accomplishment. My oldest has the heart of an angel and will devote her life to shaping young minds as a teacher. Very proud father here. :-)I am entering a sort of re-discovery phase in my life now with more spare time than I've had in a while. I plan to re-focus on my career now that I can travel again and get involved more in the community somehow. Details to be determined later.
