I was the first in my family to attend college because after a series of physically demanding jobs I decided my career trajectory ended in an environmentally controlled space in which I used my brain and not my muscles. I do, however, still enjoy mowing my own yard (all one acre of it), gardening, and splitting my own firewood. I think the outdoors is something to stop, enjoy, and experience close up and isn’t a location to just run through on the way to somewhere else.
