About Me

Ok, here it is...I'm a happy positive guy who knows what he wants in life and would like to meet someone similar. I am a single dad with a 15 year old girl who lives with me fulltime. Her mother lives 8 hours away and there is no drama. I have been divorced for for 13 years. I enjoy going out with friends, working out, spending time with family, the beach, movies, music etc. Not big on the club scene, and while I do go out, it's not a must in my life either, I could easily spend a relaxing evening at home on a Friday or Saturday night and be just as happy... I like to stay active, i workout and run 6 days a week. As far as meeting someone new goes, definitely looking to take things slow and see where they lead... I'd like a relationship for sure, but realize that it takes time and work... Mostly looking for someone down to earth like myself who's not afraid of taking the time to get to know someone new. So if this sounds good to you, definitely send me line. Please have a sense of humor.

I enjoy trying new restaurants and trying different foods. I like all types and music wit h a preference for classic rock. I want to find someone to share some good conversation and a nice bottle of wine with. I am shy and it takes me a little bit to warm up to someone. I have a good sense of humor and I enjoy to making people laugh.

I'm a positive-minded and easy-going person who values communication, honesty, and trust. I believe in being there for a person during good times and bad. A person's character--not material possessions--is what matters most to me.I like 80s music, movies (drama, action, comedy, romance), books (fiction, biographies, mystery), and trying new things."Positive thinking produces positive results." Anyplace where good communication can occur. Afterward, a nice moonlit walk...followed by???

OK, so I'm sitting here on the commode (multitasking!) trying to write something clever and witty and compelling, and frankly it's all ringing a bit hollow. So lets just be real. What's the worst that could happen?I'm John, some of my buddies call me "Pinky". (It's a long story..) I live downtown in a loft, but that's pretty much about all my life has in common with the average beer commercial. First and foremost I am a Dad, and a pretty good one. I was married to my best friend, an incredible woman who got cancer and died. I got remarried, briefly, and we are now happily divorced friends. I have two sons, the older (from my first marriage) lives with me, my little guy spends time with both parents. My kids are absolutely the light in my life, and the answer to every existential question of my youth. After way too many years in a corporate job I set out on my own about 10 years ago and now get to do what I'm passionate about. I love my "job". It's the primary thing I do "for fun", but aside from that I'm an artist and musician, I like working out, and am an excellent cook. I like the usual things that people like (kindness, good company, Sour Patch Kids, etc..) and dislike the things that most people dislike.. (most Chrysler products, sulfurous odors, sharp blows to the head, and so on..)It's sort of hard to describe one's own personality; it's all from a pretty biased perspective after all. But what I strive to be is decent, honest, compassionate and aware, and I value the same traits in others. I'd like to think that people who know me well would describe me as a good guy, although there may be a few dissenting voices out there. sh*tdoes happen. I'm ultimately looking for a relationship, and very much open to the idea but in no particular hurry to get into anything super serious or heavy. (Dating is kind of fun too!) My perfect partner would be my best friend, which sort of infers sharing similar values and interests, but aside from that I have very few specific criteria. Women of other ethnicities, philosophies or backgrounds are encouraged to reply. I have no particular preferences with regard to other's appearance; I am far more attracted to integrity, creativity and positivity than a highly polished facade. I rarely click with people who are exceedingly negative or cynical (skeptical is good, cynical gets tiresome..) and have little patience for prejudice or bigotry. So that's me. Who are you? Dinner, anecdotes, laughter, possibilities.
