About Me

I've always been a small group kind of person but between divorce and my friends getting married and having kids, my small group has shrunk down to...well, a geek and his dog.I've joined Meetup and have been meeting lots of people, making new friends as well as finally getting some regular exercise - hiking and biking. I've even tried some kayaking and would like to do some more.I'm looking for someone smart and witty who can give and receive some sass along with some love. My own personal April Ludgate - but not quite that young and you should have a slightly harder work ethic. But I guess that would make me Andy which is not a flattering comparison - but I’ve already dived down this rabbit hole so let’s keep digging.. I’ (If you're lost - this is from Parks and Rec and you really should be watching it.)I see these profiles where people enjoy "traveling through Europe and at least 5 foreign countries every year". That sounds like fun but my budget is not going to cooperate. I'm certainly looking for a traveler's companion when an adventure presents itself, but I'm more interested in the other 99% of life:- the nights on the couch with pizza and some movies- a weekend hike- braving parallel parking and going to Schubas to see an old (or new) favorite- checking out a tribute band at a local bar- holding hands and sneaking each other kisses while we run errands at Home Depot and Target- staying up way too late playing Rock Band or Katamari Damacy- paying for a movie and sneaking into two or three of them- taking long drives with good music and looking for UFOs (or at least suspicious looking streetlights)People who have just met me think I'm too quiet. People who know me well may want me to shut up sometimes.My divorce is final so there is no lingering legal baggage there. Obviously it didn't work, but the divorce was amicable and we are still friends (well, as friendly as two divorced people can be***so take that as a reference!I'm looking for that special ***the last smile I see before I go to sleep and the first one I see in the morning. (You're still asleep? I'll just poke you a few times. There, now you're awake. Why aren't you smiling?) Nothing fancy.Maybe just some coffee to see if there is any chemistry.Or go big and go out for dinner. Everyone needs to eat!
