Man. 45 years old. Zodiac sign: Cancer.

Looking for: man. In age: 42-52

Where to even start with something like this? I'm a great guy who is living a great life. Have had my ups and down like anyone but that is actually the result of having taken many fun chances and lived through them. Some things worked very well, others were lessons that I learned and moved on from. I believe - and most would concur - that I am fun, handsome, very loyal, successful, romantic, driven, a great friend, and a decent cook. I am looking for that special someone to share my life with. I am not looking for someone to BE my life, or vice-versa, but feel almost everything is better when you have someone to share it with. Although it may sound cliché, I really do care more about a person's mind and soul rather than his body, but if he happens to be beefy and hairy all the better. I'm a professional with a flexible schedule and would love to find a soul mate to travel through life with and share both the smiles and the occasional frowns. I love to write and could go on for hours, but it would probably make more sense to just send me a message and we could start a real conversation. (Not at all interested in hook-ups, no matter how fun or tawdry. That is easy to find. Someone special is a rare find. Maybe you are the one I'm waiting for?? I'm sure we can come up with something more fun and interesting than that!

Man. 43 years old. Zodiac sign: Aries.

Looking for: man. In age: 40-50

Bit of a night-owl and a bookworm, I love animals, movies, music, good food, long walks, and just learning and exploring life. Of late, I'm finishing up a book I wrote, and I just started up a small-press publishing company. I know it's almost cliché to say, but I'm genuinely laid-back, honest, and good-hearted. I live by a moral code and want to leave the world a better place than I found it. For the most part, I prefer to surround myself with people who share similar values.I'm looking for a deeper connection with someone for whom there's chemistry, who shares similar ideals, like peace, love, respect, patience, compassion and good humor. This someone can tolerate my circus of animals (four cats and two dogs), is affectionate and genuinely kind. He's not averse to healthy-living, physically, emotionally and spiritually, which I think are important to maintaining a happy and balanced life. None of us is perfect, but I like the idea of being open to growth and new ideas. By the same token, I think certain traditional concepts are timeless and of great value. A first date has to involve getting to know each other, which should be a fun thing, with food perhaps, and in an upbeat setting to help offset the normal nerves that people have when first meeting. Prospective partners aught to meet as friends without expectations, and see if there's chemistry and commonality.

It's tough to sum yourself up in a few sentences... one of the drawbacks of this online profile approach, I suppose. I'm a pretty laid-back guy, conservative appearance but pretty liberal attitudes. Warm conversations about the nature of reality with friends are a lot more enjoyable to me than debates about politics, religion... well, debates about anything, really! My loves include almost any music -- although I might have to draw the line at polka or opera ;***but I especially dig gospel music (the rafter-shakin', get-it-on-DOWN variety); I'm insanely addicted to playing the piano (and B-3); and I can't talk about my greatest loves without including my unbelievably awesome friends and family. I'm also pretty dang fond of laughing, dining, staying fit, and trying to find little ways to leave a positive mark on the world. I'm pretty sensitive, sort of a weird mix of extroverted and introverted, and believe that humility and respect make up the foundation of every successful relationship (and even day-to-day passing interactions, for that matter). And I don't believe any human being does anything perfectly. I see the world as being in far too short a supply of kindness and understanding, and that our society in particular suffers from self-absorption and too much emphasis on comfort (and I only wish I weren't talking about myself in that observation, but I'm workin' on it).I'm just looking for a guy who has no idea how great he is, doesn't realize how attractive he is, has a great sense of humor, enjoys talking about things that really matter, and for the most part is open and honest. Sensitive and caring are also pretty cool (they're actually intensely attractive qualities to me).So if I sound like someone you'd like to get to know better, please feel free to say hey. I'm not doing this personals thing with any specific expectations, but it would be awesome to meet someone great. I'd make sure to find out at least a little about your personality before deciding exactly what to do on a first date, but if I had to make a blind choice, dinner and a walk would be great.; if you were into art, a museum or First Fridays;..)
