Yes, I've been on meetville twice before. The first time, I wasn't in the right place to even think about dating: in the past year, I've grown a lot as both a man and a father, and realized what's truly important in my life. Dating is fun, and the opposite sex is great (some of you ladies don't believe that, but each and every one of you is truly amazing...despite what your stupid ex told you), but I'm a working single dad now...and that will always be Priority One. If you cannot handle playing second fiddle to two amazing little girls, I wish you the best of luck in your fishing but I also ask you to look elsewhere. Because if you ever get to meet them, and they don't like you...well, I'm sure you can imagine where that would leave us. The second time I was on meetville, I met some interesting women...but then a personal friend of mine and I tried to be more than friends. Sadly, it was an abject failure, and it incorporates my bracketed comment above: Ladies, I am not your ex. Yes, he might've been a real jerk and he might've really messed with you (emotionally, physically, spiritually), but I am not him. I'm actually a pretty easy-going, respectful, humorous, passionate guy.-taped together...please, keep fishing. I'm just a simple guy, and I'm sure I can bugger up a relationship on my own with my goofy attempts at humor; we don't need to bring your exes' behaviours out of the closet and trundle them out to add to the mix, do we? I promise my ex will not affect my opinion of you: her and I have actually evolved as people that not only can we talk to each other politely, but we are actually friends. It's rare, I know, but it makes life so much more simple when you have two little people to care for. Cool? Cool. Let's continue. So I have two jobs: I work at a casino here in town, handling cash; I also work a few weekdays as a doorman at a popular but intimate pub downtown. Lots of women like to ask if I have "a career that I love," and I used to have a career: it sky-rocketed my blood-pressure to heart--stabbing snakes that make up the concept of "climbing the corporate ladder." It also made me such a miserable person that I pretty much got fired on purpose, caused my marriage to collapse, and left me here on meetville, typing up stuff about me to be judged by strangers. So now I have two jobs where I actually enjoy going to work every day. In turn, my co-workers (almost always) enjoy having ME come to work each day. I also have a major hobby: I am a professional wrestler.; for the last five years, I have also helped promote wrestling shows in Kelowna...and for the last two years, I have run my own wrestling promotion. We have done a show every month in Kelowna since November ***. Don't worry, I'm sure many of you have never heard of wrestling in Kelowna, have never seen a poster for wrestling in Kelowna, or simply don't care...but trust me, professional wrestling is in Kelowna. And I love it: the thrill of entertaining a crowd is invigorating. It's also why I love to go to karaoke. Yes, I do that too. A lot. I'm slowly but surely working on the nerve to attempt stand-up comedy, as well. I don't want to brag that I'm a "natural" entertainer, but hey...others have said it, so I'll gladly take the compliment. What else? Sometimes I go to the gym, but I'm not as dedicated as I'd like to be. I like to drink, but I will not go to a club to pound shots and dance and--inevitably--end up fighting some goofball from out-of-town with too much testosterone...and who knows what else in his system. I'm a natural peacekeeper, so I tend to get stuck stopping these situations, even when I'm off duty from the actual bar I work at. If you want to go clubbing, I'm sure you have pretty of female friends that will join you. If you want to sit in a pub and enjoy each other's company or listen to a band, I'm game; if you want to have a few drinks over dinner, I'm very game; and if you want to have a few drinks at your place (or mine), and watch a movie and enjoy a quiet evening together...I'm *definitely* game. I'm not even sure if you're still reading at this point: does anyone really read the entire profile, or do we all just look at pictures and treat this like a human catalog? For what it's worth, I will read your profile all the way to the end, even if your profile contains 12 pages of inspirational quotes. Men are often referred to as dogs, in a negative way. I get that, but I have no problem considering myself one: at heart, I am a loyal and affectionate puppy-dog: often goofy, and prone to lick your face. That's figuratively, unless shots ARE involved, than blame the tequila: I can't be on point every minute of the day. But like any dog, I will be ferocious if the ones I care about are in danger. But I promise not to pee on the carpet or eat your shoes. This portion always is too much pressure! Usually I'm pretty laid back and will go with the flow; also, I'm kind of a fan of the girl making the first move. It's a nice change of pace. I'll go for coffee with you, but to sit there and talk is...well, it does come off as an interview. I've only ever had one sit-down coffee date that was fun. Let's grab our coffees and take a walk downtown, maybe? Now that the days and nights are getting colder and wetter, maybe indoors bowling or playing pool or having a few drinks is the way to go. I'd rather start casually until we get to know each other better.
