About Me

Hi guys,Thanks for stopping to look. I'm at the point where I feel like it would be nice to go out with someone other than one of my friends, most of whom are married, catch a movie, play some pool, darts, or go fishing. Yes, I said fishing. I love it. I like most outdoor activities, as long as I'm dressed appropriately. Hate being cold. .As for what I'm looking for here on meetville...I think I want what most of us women, serious about this search, are looking for...a guy that'll make me look twice, and stimulate my intellect. He should be employed and able to care for himself, be well-groomed, be witty and polite, be intelligent but able to be silly at times. Please have a gooooood sense of humor! I tend to gravitate toward a tall-ish, stocky-type guy. The rest is open for discussion. Because I know some of you might want an interpretation of "tall-ish"...I'd say 5'10" and up seems to fit the descriptor. This should eliminate some earlier misinterpretations, or denials of the definition of tall...ish.I really am just a girl, looking for THAT guy that'll make my heart race when I see him. I miss that feeling. I am looking to date, with the intention of developing a long-term relationship. If you're interested, please feel free to drop me a note. If not, that's cool, too. "To each his own", right? Best of luck to all of us!L "First date" seems like it needs a little more clarification. It can mean different things to different people. If it were the first meeting, I'd think a comfortable, reasonably quiet atmosphere would be best to be able to get to know each other a bit. Have coffee, a beer...you know, just like everyone else says. ;o) If all goes well, I'm sure more plans will be made.

This Plenty of Fish is really a crap shoot, isn't it? Well... here goes!A little about myself: I am a very physically active and intellectually curious person. I love the outdoors and anything related to the ocean. I exercise every day. I enjoy walking, jogging, aerobics, biking, hiking, camping, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and canoeing. I live close to the ocean and never get sick of the beach.I'm not much into shopping, unless it's vintage clothing stores and thrift shops. I love retro fashion, and have been told I resemble Bettie Page. I am into tiki culture and exotica music. In fact, I have quite a vinyl lp collection, which I will never get rid of. Call me "old school" if you will; I prefer the terms "classic" or "retro"I am a teacher. I love my work. That's very important to me. But after 12 years I'm ready to shift into a new direction so I am studying to be a holistic health coach. I am a vegan and I believe that good health and vitality begins with food. My health and my quality of life is very important to me, so I take very good care of myself. I eat very thoughtfully and I exercise every day.I love animals and feel that we share a common bond with them. I have one dog and three cats. If animals are not your thing, you probably wouldn't feel comfortable at my place.I believe that individual people can affect great change. I enjoy gardening, landscaping, and habitat restoration.I love camping more than staying in a resort hotel. But don't let my outdoors enthusiasm fool you. Who says you can't have the best of both worlds? My ideal man would be someone who is educated (I'll let you define what that means), and stable. I don't care about your income, just as long as you have a job. I'd prefer a man who loves the work he does. When we have a passion for our work, everything else seems to be at peace. He should be physically fit. Yes, it matters to me as much as I'm sure it matters to you guys. I'd like someone who enjoys working out, not seeing exercise as a chore. I would love to meet someone who likes jogging, biking, swimming, snorkeling, diving, and other water sports. If you go to the gym, even better. But what good the brawn if no brain? My match would enjoy stimulating conversation. He would be turned off by a female who doesn't have anything substantial to talk about. If he's looking for a botoxed, high maintenance, airhead type, I'm not his gal. I chose to tell the truth about my age. I am proud of being 50, mostly because I have kept myself in really good shape and I like how people react when I tell them my age. Truth be told, I look and feel better now than I did 15 years ago. Also, I'm not interested in a man who only wants to date much younger women. Can't we judge people by other means than their age? How 'bout mileage? Um, ok, maybe not!I think chemistry is important. I know it immediately. If it's not there, it's not there and we should move on, no hard feelings. But if there is chemistry... let's see where that takes us! A first date would, of course, be coffee (or other beverage of choice). We'll see if there are any sparks. I highly believe in sparks. If there is chemistry, then the time and place of a second date won't really matter. All that really matters is a place where we could talk and get to know each other a little better. I am a vegan so going out to Red Lobster or Outback Steak House is out of the question. I watch what I eat and maintain my figure, so Cheesecake Factory is also out of the question. However, I know of some fantastic vegan restaurants where we could enjoy the pleasure of really delicious, healthy food and enjoy stimulating conversation. Candlelight is optional, but a bottle of wine would be a nice touch!
