About Me

I'm a 48-year-old professional who is looking for some fun and companionship hopefully leading to a long-term relationship. I work for a financial services company managing litigation and while I enjoy my work, I am more than happy to leave it at the office at the end of the day. People have told me I project an aura of calm the downside of which has made me appear a little aloof to people at times. I’m not especially once I get to know you a little! I'm avid about physical fitness (for myself - I just really enjoy it!) and you're likely to find me running or biking outside or using the elliptical or weight training in my home gym in addition to a spin class a couple of days a week at the gym. I love to cook/bake (and eat - hence all the aforementioned exercise!) and recently adopted a low carb life-style so have been having a ball experimenting with alternative ingredients I never knew existed before. Who says you have to give up desserts and treats! That being said I can whip up some mean traditional fare as well. I also enjoy reading, movies, going out to eat, occasionally dabbling in genealogy, and spending time on my on-going quest to teach myself Italian among other things. I’m very independent and have a high tolerance for being alone but also enjoy getting out, socializing and having fun! I am very warm and nurturing of my partner in a relationship and expect we'll spend lots of time together but I also think we should have some separate interests and want to spend some time apart with friends or pursuing those interests. I have a great family (although I wish they lived closer and I had more opportunities to see them) not to mention a group of close friends from high school and college I spend time with on a regular basis. I don't have kids (somewhat of a regret but at this point I think I'm a little too old for it to be a possibility) but I love them and have lived vicariously through my beautiful 24 yr old niece and 7 yr. old nephew.I’m looking for someone who is honest, has a great sense of humor, a strong sense of self, doesn’t take himself too seriously and is kind to children and animals :) I’d love to meet someone I can be myself around and feel totally comfortable with. I would like to meet someone who agrees that laughter is essential in a relationship and that it is always a work in progress that needs attention and care. Something that will give us a chance to talk and get to know each other.
