I’m a curious person who loves to learn, has lots of interests, and cares about the world around me. Work-wise, these days I spend it writing and editing somewhat dry, technical material. In my off-hours, I try to fit in as many fun, useful, and interesting pursuits as I can without exhausting myself, and I do enjoy spending time on my own as well. One of my current favourite things is learning West Coast swing dancing. I have a plot in a community garden and enjoy puttering around there. I did some volunteer board work for a small nonprofit last year. I'm starting a part-time masters program in the fall and getting myself ready for that new phase of my life - am excited about that. I also enjoy going to documentaries and lectures on current events and social and urban topics, as well as just eating and drinking with friends. I like walking and exploring, and would enjoy having someone to go on easy to moderate hikes with. I run, somewhat sporadically. What I’m attracted to and looking forIntelligence, humour, decency, and creativity are some of the characteristics I find most attractive. For a long-term relationship, shared values are a must. I’d like to meet someone who I can plot and plan and go on adventures with, and someone to eventually build and share a home with too.I’m often attracted to people who have stepped off conventional paths, as I feel I’ve done that myself – if we decide to meet, you can ask me about my goat-milking days. ;)I would really like to be in a committed long-term relationship again, but realize there’s no forcing that and no magic wands. Making new friends and having some adventures along the way would be great too, as would meeting some new dance partners. I'm very outgoing and social. It really doesn't matter what we do as long as the company is good. I am very involved in fitness classes (my part-time fun job is being a fitness *** running. My full-time job is in post-secondary computer studies. I don't watch a lot of TV but I enjoy kicking back on the couch occasionally too. I enjoy making people laugh and laugh at myself often. I'm optimistic and like to find the best in people and situations. I am NOT high maintenance nor am I materialistic. I'm independent and a strong person. I like to work with my hands and play with tools. I have used many and always willing and wanting to use more. I like to do the renos and fixings around my place as much as I can. Hmm let's see... I do need to start this off by letting you know that I have a piercing and two tattoos so if you are not OK with this I wish you luck in your endeavors. I seek a man my age or younger, Someone who doesn't mind a part time dating scene for now, someone not in a rush. Have you ever had someone in your life that when you are in a crowd of people and you are not together at that moment touches the inside of your hand? You can not see them but the energy that comes from that touch causes your heart rate to double and your smile large knowing that there are no words needed as the heat of their touch, the look in their eyes tells you all you need to know? A man that has a life of his own and enjoys having it while sharing some time with a busy career driven woman who takes care of her own things and does not seek yours. Someone who is not jealous as I do not get that way myself, I expect that when we look at each other it is a mutual trust. I am interested in someone that is not waiting for the weekend to come so they can tie one on, Someone that does not mind that I am rusty at the outdoor activities but would love to try and get back to it.
