I am an outgoing, honest, independent, and caring person. There aren't very many things that intimidate me. I'll take the hook out of the fish's mouth, use power tools, and make friends with strangers. I am definitely comfortable in my own skin.I like to be active, and would describe myself as athletic, but not coordinated. I enjoy running, and regularly hit up one of my local parks to run 5Ks. Having a partner that wants to be active and healthy is important to me. I enjoy cooking and trying out new healthy recipies. Don't get me wrong though, nachos and a cold beer are pretty delicous too!I have a very large immediate family and I love spending time with them. I grew up in the middle-of-nowhere and think that my small town roots and family values have really shaped my personality. I'm looking for someone that is down to earth and family oriented. I enjoy living and working in an urban area.- I love my job! I also enjoy traveling. Plannin a trip to Germany with my sister for summer ***. I'd rather spend my money on traveling to enjoy time with family/friends or seeing the world than collecting artifacts.I want to find someone that will be a companion. A companion that wants to do things together, but also respects one another's different interests. I'm not a Bible thumper, but I'm known to go to church on occassion. I think general faith is important not only for an individual, but also for maintaining a strong relationship.I believe that you should live life to the fullest. As a result, I like to keep a busy schedule - whether it be work, play, or time with family and friends. I know my limits, and if I make a committment to something I follow through and give 100%. A little about me--I enjoy day hikes, tennis, all kinds of music, and the beach/ocean. The beach is probably my favorite place; the sound of ocean waves are so relaxing. I enjoy star gazing on warm evenings too but that has been tough since moving to DC (city lights are too bright for it). I look forward to exploring more of Europe--so much history and great art! I am pretty adventurous and am willing to try most anything new. I am a middle child & grew up in St. Louis, MO. I did my post-doc at UNC & then came to the DC-area for work. Im just an easy going gal looking for an easy going guy to hang out with and see what happens. I currently work in the accounting department at an auto dealership. I have learned over the past few years that the business world is not for me. I was created to do more than sit behind a desk and type all day long! So I am currently working on getting certified to teach. I'm working on a general studies certification for grades ***but I think I want to teach middle school math or science. I find it hard to write about myself but I am good with coming up with random things so here is a list of things about me :)- I am far from high maintenance. - I wear flip flops all the time. Rain, sleet, snow, or hail they are on my feet. I do own closed toed shoes but I'm not a fan.- I love to mow the yard. There is something about the nice lines the mower makes. It makes me happy.- I love God and I work on my relationship with him everyday. I go to church on a regular basis- With that being said I enjoy a wide variety of music.- I'm over weight and I'm working on it- I'm not the worlds best speller and I never had a good English teacher so my grammar is not always great when I write. - I live alone and am capable of taking care of myself.- My parents are a big part of my life. They maybe crazy hippies but I love them.- I love to cook. Recipes are nice but I like to use them as suggestions and tweek them to make them my own.- My favorite moves are Love Actually, The Other Sister, and Pretty Woman. If you haven't seen those I would suggest that you do!- I love to travel but don't get to do a lot of it. One day I would like to go to Australia and dive in the Great Barrier Reef. As for what I am looking for in a guy is someone who is honest and can treat me with respect. I want someone who is willing to get to know me and who doesn't just want to get in my pants. I'm not that kind of girl. Red hair and dimples are a plus but not mandatory :)If you have any questions just let me know. I'm pretty much an open book and will share almost anything!
