Here's my story...I've been divorced a couple years out of a ***yr relationship, took some time to recover and now ready to venture out into the wild world of dating, something I never thought I'd be doing when I got married but, such is life. Figured this would be a good place to start, so all you guys don't let me down k!Not planning to rush into anything serious, but am a very versatile, never say never type. It all depends on what happens & who I meet! I'm drawn to those who are artistic & share my interests in music (of all kinds), cinema, and the arts in general as well as travel (which I haven't gotten to do near enough of!). I love to sing and still hope to learn piano, guitar, or both one day. I occasionally write poetry and I like to read. Been told I have a good balance of intellect and common sense, I tend to know a little about a lot and a lot about a little. I'm very curious and am always asking questions because I usually need to know the how, what, when, and why of things. So being a good conversationalist is a must. I've been strongly considering going back to college to get my degree, just not positive yet.I'm a curvy woman in (mostly) all the right places, so someone who likes that as opposed to a petite woman is important (have a bit of a jelly belly), I'm not in as good of shape as I'd like so want to be more active. Motivation and healthy influence in this area would be awesome given I'm accepted as I am to begin with. Will glam it up to go out, but don't get fixed up to go to the grocery store. Fellas looking for a trophy, I'm not your gal. Looks aren't the most important thing, but realistically there has to be some attraction and either it's there or it's not for both. It can grow or disappear getting to know someone, ugly on the inside makes a person unattractive all around.I want to meet a gentleman who has good southern values (not a saint) and is Christian that knows how to treat a lady with respect and I'll be one in return. Doesn't mean I'm high maintenance, I know my self worth. There's not a fake bone in my body so I can't can't tolerate pretentiousness or snobbery, life is about sooo much more than things & way too short for them to take center focus. Time is too precious for anyone to waste so I do my best to be upfront and honest. Laid back & easy going are my type of people. Of course everyone likes a good sense of humor too, right? Given that I bought a house, I also intend to stay in DC for a while, quite possibly for life. I am employed and I actually like what I do! I am a voracious reader finding that reading just one book at a time is not enough. I've seen Shawshank Redemption more times than I can count, yet am completely unable to change the channel if I come across the movie on television. I'm a sucker for puzzles, art museums, and dogs. I have goals that I have every intention of keeping including, but not limited to: visiting every state by the time I'm 38ish, reading every book on a "***novels you must read before you die" list I came across in the next 18 years, and getting at least one promotion at work in the next 4 years. I enjoy cooking and think I make a pretty damn good lasagna and black bean soup. I stay active by running, biking, hiking, and/or just going to the gym. I consider myself lucky having found a job I like, friends whom I adore and would do anything for, family who can be pretty awesome, and the independence to have bought my own home a few years ago.I, if I do say so myself, am a catch. (Get it?! A catch on plenty of fish! Yes. I can bust out the lame pun every once in a while.)Having dated quite a bit of unworthy guys, I do know what I'm looking for.
