About Me

So this is the place where I am suppose to tell you about myself, it always seems so awkward typing this kind of stuff trying to tell you all about me in a short little write up but here goes anyways. Enjoy!Right now I am trying to enjoy a balanced life. I work hard as a teacher during the week, dealing with teenagers can be tiring but most days are a lot of fun. I have been doing this now for 12 years so the days aren't as long as they used to be which allows me to do stuff that alllows me to relax and unwind. In the winter I enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, and going for walks and in the summer I like going for hikes, rollerblading, and short runs. Just to set the record straight I am no athlete and never have been but I enjoy doing active things. I enjoy reading books and will pretty much read just about anything from the Lord of the Rings, to The Shopaholic Series, to History Texts, to Uncle John's Bathroom Reader ( I enjoy learning random useless facts and stories, everyone once in a while they can come in handy). Movies are pretty much the same I like Action, Adventure, Drama, Comedy, etc. Of course it goes without saying that once in a while going out with girls to watch the latest chick flick with Matthew McConaughey a not so secret indulgence. I listen to pretty much any kind of music that I can tune a radio to, except country, but don't ask me to be your partner at a music trivia pub night unless you want to lose!Most people do say that I make a good friendly first impression and am easy to talk to. I can make people feel comfortable and welcome in new situations. However when first dating someone new that I am attracted to I tend to get those little butterflies and can get a little nervous but am still friendly don't worry.     Me me me.......ok here goes. I came out here to fulfill my dreams and they've actually come true! I have a wonderful career. The kind where I go to work and everyday and I say "wow I can't believe they pay me to do this". It's allowed me to own my home and be comfortable and not have to rely on anyone for help....i'm not after your money ;)I don't have much family here in Calgary. What I do have is a great group of friends that are like my family and I love them with all my heart. I rarely sit at home. Most of the time i'll be out and about visiting with friends and hanging out. In the summer I like to ride my bike, camp, do water activities and drive my car with the windows down and the music incredibly loud while I sing. Winter.....well this year i'm going to try and make it amazing. Winter camping is appealing. Winter sucks, I just want to embrace it and do as much as possible to make it suck less and go by faster. I wish me luck! I would describe myself as free spirited and happy. Finding someone to share life with would be great but at the same time I don't want to be tied down. The perfect guy for me would be someone who has his own life, interests and friends. A great friend and someone who isn't clingy and jealous. I need my space in a relationship and so do you. I like all kinds of music. It depends on my mood but I like classic rock, folk, dance and r&b. I can sort of sing and I love to dance. Before I die I want to learn to play the guitar.     I am definately a sports fanatic. I like to keep myself pretty active. In the summer I enjoy golfing, playing ball, camping, kayaking, biking and have just recently started to do some backcountry hiking and have fallen in love with it! Winter is spent snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or down hill skiing. I also just enjoy staying in and watching movies and being with friends and family.It would definately be nice to find someone who has similar interests but that being said I also think it's important that we have our own intersts as well. I'm looking for someone that is career-oriented, has a good sense of humour (he can take a joke!), and preferably somebody who is beyond the party scene!A little more about me.
