About Me

Exactly how does one write a profile to precisely capture the desired audience? What magical combination of words can possibly attract the personification of the traits I find attractive or adequately portray my true essence as a person and a woman? Most importantly how many men really do read these profiles? Myself: I am self-sufficient (capable of killing spiders, investigating loud noises in the night with large dog at side, and tackling minor home repairs and improvements), educated (degreed with a liberal arts foundation), intelligent (have my own opinions but, astute enough to know that "different" doesn't necessarily mean "wrong"), articulate (I guess you’ll need to converse with me to ascertain that trait! lol), and attractive (or so I've been told) with a deep love for children, animals and the outdoors. Some of my greatest passions are dog rescue, training and fostering. Spending time at the dog parks is one of my favorite ways to de-stress. Additionally, being outside, whether working in the yard with headphones and music, walking trails with the dogs or sitting on a patio listening to wind chimes and birds sing is a must to retain my sanity! My friends and family have remarked that I am empathetic, naturally happy, unpretentious, patient, and have a calming influence on others. Basically, I see the joy in life and the good in people, and more often than not, accept them on their own terms. My goal is to live each day with love, grace, humility and gratitude. I've lived a fabulous live but, the past has not always been “”. However, it has been a wonderful opportunity for learning and growth. As a result, I am free from the past and have moved forward as a better person with more wisdom and life experience. Traits I appreciate in a man: Attractive (someone attractive to me both on the inside and out), intelligent (the ability carry on a cogent conversation and participate in playful banter), articulate (The ability and willingness to speak your thoughts, both positive and negative....What REALLY catches my attention and interest is excellent writing skills with correct spelling and proper grammar.Oh my!!), optimistic, warm, patient (able to laugh at the daily frustrations in life most of the time and can see progress, above imperfection) and a professional persona. Also a love of dogs would be a fantastic bonus, but at least a "like" is necessary. Essentially looking for my equal and complement....someone who "gets" me and would never dream of wanting to change me. Have you seen him????In a perfect world of infinite possibilities..... I seek a man that I can respect, admire and adore for an eternity; a man that can tolerate and perhaps even nurture my creative binges, can find humor in the chaos of living with a house full of pets, has the maturity to weather the storm and the wisdom and faith to embrace uncertainty. However, today, I'd like to start SLOWLY with a developing friendship and see what progresses. Down the road, who knows?.....Perhaps you will make my heart skip a beat. ;) Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I wish you abundant success in finding what you seek. :) For that first meeting my preference would be a quiet location, e.g., coffee shop, to facilitate getting to know one another better, to determine the presence of that initial "spark" OR potential friendship.

What do I say first? What would be that outstanding opening line to intrigue someone to read further. Hmmmmm...I feel as though I'm suppose to sort of sell myself here and that makes me uncomfortable. I'll do my best to show through words how caring, compassionate and a tad crazy I am. I am very outgoing person with a love for humor. I love practical jokes (when you least expect it) and love to make people laugh. It's such a good medicine. I love the water and being at the beach but a good hike or camping is just as fun. I can be a tomboy when needed or dress up for that special occassion. I guess I'm pretty versatile. Family is important to me. I have 4 grown children, all out of the home and doing very well. Three are/were military and one is in law enforcement and all highly outgoing. At the present I have decided to do a little change up in my career. I finished nursing school last year but am debating on attending school again this fall to up my educational degree. Not sure if I want to throw myself into the boiling pot of studying again. Returning to school "later in life" isn't all that easy. I was a teacher (pharmacy field) for years but felt I needed a change. Economy hasn't been too friendly to vocational teachers. "Back in the day" I worked in emergency medicine. I gave up the crazy schedule to be a more devoted mom and help run the home. Four kids took a lot of time and focus. I love to travel (yet I haven't been able to much). I have family in Germany and would love to visit them someday. I think I'm the last one in the family to leave the country. Sad, huh?As for music, well, I'm pretty open. I love the theater, going to plays, hmmmmm...not Opera though, and I'm not real big into Rap music. I love the oldies and am "attempting" to adapt to country music. Trying, at least. My sons love country so there are a few artists I really like. I was a competitive swimmer for years, a basketball coach, a swim coach and the list goes on so, yes, I love sports. I even like watching football and hockey games on T.V. (after I make all the yummy food to watch it with). I enjoy getting all dressed up and having a "Barbie moment" as much as I like gutting a fish and going camping and being all grungy. Everything has it's place and I enjoy it all. Life is too short to be picky. OK....I won't go bungie jumping. I value my spine!Well, I don't know what else to say. It seems as though every time I read someone else's profile I think, "Ah man, I should've said that. That's good." But this is who I am. I think I painted a pretty accurate picture of myself. I try and live life to the fullest and look at things with a positive approach. Wow...I leave this open to your imagination. Why give hints when it's more fun to see what you come up with on your own. Good luck, it should be fun. I'm very easy to talk with and be around. I try my best to make people feel comfortable around me.

Wouldn't it be nice if we were to meet, and just know that there was going to be happy ever after?! Right! LOL! Well it would be easier than being on line! . ;-) I am however interested in finding a committed relationship with a man who is classy, adventurous, honest, passionate ...one who embraces life, and knows who he is and what he wants. Someone who likes to laugh, will turn left *** right, just to see what we might find by taking a different road... a man who appreciates a woman and feels proud of her own successes and accomplishments.I think you just have to meet me to get to know me...and then even though I am very open and easy going, there are a lot of different layers (no not like an onion! LOL!***I have been told that I am fun, interesting and surprising--as well as, intelligent, silly, romantic, and even a little edgy. I think it's because I am interested in so many different things. I am passionate about everything I do, despite the challenges I continue to be positive, and I truly do enjoy life to its fullest! My favorite things are travel, out door activities, being creative, learning and trying new things, and I look forward to experiencing that closeness that comes from caring and communicating, as well as having a relationship that includes both mental and physical closeness. I'd like to find that one special man.If you would like to know more-- just ask. :-) I'm not looking for a pen pal. Let's talk and find out if we would like to meet. Let's get a glass of wine some place that is quiet enough for us to find out about each other and if there is any of that magic and allusive chemistry between us.PPS I don't know how it happened...but for some reason the age on here doesn't match exactly to the age on my DL--close though!

I am looking for someone who enjoys life, able to try new things,I like quiet nights enjoying conversation with a glass of wine, honesty, having fun outdoors, being physically active. Maybe dinner drinks conversation or just a walk & talking, maybe just relaxing in a hot tub & talking or looking at stars. Sounds boring but could turn romantic. Movie or wine tasting. Open for suggestions.
