My Life, in a Nutshell. Been single for several years now. I was certain, that ***would be my year. The year isn't ever yet! But, I have a feeling I will be editing in a few months, changing ***to ***.......... I'm always optomistic!I'm a divorced, middle age gal, that feels like 30. I am 5'5", healthy, but not a skinny model. I live near the Glendoveer Fitness Trail, and would like to find someone to walk it with me. I don't smoke ***years!) and rarely drink. I never do recreational drugs. If you do, do not contact me. I work full time, downtown. I don't work regular hours, but I don't work weekends. I live alone, but for my cat. Kids are out. I have a home, and car. I live very frugally, with a goal of being debt free. Slowly, but surely, getting there. My car is old, but it's paid for. My apartment is cheap, but comfortable. I just want to be worry-free. I'm easy going, and don't sweat the small stuff. I'm Catholic, and occasionally go to Mass. I'm not religious.I hope to find a nice man, who may have some of the same goals. I like if you're taller than me, and not skinny. I like a big guy. By big, I don't mean morbidly obese. It would be cool if he has a car, home and job (or at least, an income). Sense of humor is a big plus, and likes kids and animals. I like a man with a big personality, not so much a milktoast. Please don't be an alcoholic, drug user, woman abuser, felon, wanted or attached in any way. But, anywhere may be doable. I want that man to know that I have goal in mind. To get remarried someday. But, I'll just be happy starting with a nice date. It was so much easier when I was a teenager! I've dated since my divorce, but have not been in a relationship.I am pretty much a homebody, because I live cheaply, but mostly because I am still single. When I do get out, I like to eat out, go to the movies, walk around the mall, hit up the casino, visit friends. I listen to Alternative, 90's grunge, new music on 94.7. (The Black Keys can do no wrong!) I don't like country. I love Volkswagens. More like obsessed..lol You don't need to, but at least humor me. And, I won't hate what you may drive. I'm on ***, keeping in touch with my friends and family. We live in an amazing time, where one can keep in touch, and chat with friends and family members all over the world! .     Hi There - I am just finishing my masters in Occupational Therapy. After 2 years of hard work, and very little time for a personal life, I am ready to meet others, have some fun & find a like-minded soul to spend some time with... I live near the cliff house &..I just joined the de young / legion of honor museums again and love to go to the zoo.;/or 300mm lens...I really enjoy working in my garden or community garden, hope to dabble again in ceramics or artwork, and am thinking it might be fun to take up the tabla (Indian drums) or maybe the violin...Most of my travels have been in Latin America, but traveling in the U.S. can be amazing too. Europe is great but too expensive for my sensibilities...I hope my next big trip lands me in India, perhaps it will become my spiritual home...developing my spiritual path includes meditation with aspects from Hindu, Christian & Buddhist traditions. I like npr, movies and pbs (although I rarely watch tv), and am definitely left of center. Spectator sports rarely interest me (until the Olympics are on) although I keep thinking someday it might be fun to follow soccer. I enjoy most kinds of music including latin, classical, international, and sometimes feel like dancing, humming or singing along. It's been a while since I have dated but ready to give it a try again. I have just past my 50th year, and am most likely to date men who are pretty close to my age...somewhere between 45 and 55 would be ideal. I am not in a hurry and want to do things the old fashioned way...going on dates, doing something & actually getting to know someone for a while (a month or longer...) before taking things to another more romantic level...at the same time I much prefer to go "dutch" (i.e. pay my own way) when I first spend time with someone...I can't think of too many reasons why I would ever need a guy to open a car door for me...and I much prefer when things are down to earth and egalitarian.Thanks for taking the time to learn a little about me & all the best in your search.     Exactly how does one write a profile to precisely capture the desired audience? What magical combination of words can possibly attract the personification of the traits I find attractive or adequately portray my true essence as a person and a woman? Most importantly how many men really do read these profiles? Myself: I am self-sufficient (capable of killing spiders, investigating loud noises in the night with large dog at side, and tackling minor home repairs and improvements), educated (degreed with a liberal arts foundation), intelligent (have my own opinions but, astute enough to know that "different" doesn't necessarily mean "wrong"), articulate (I guess you’ll need to converse with me to ascertain that trait! lol), and attractive (or so I've been told) with a deep love for children, animals and the outdoors. Some of my greatest passions are dog rescue, training and fostering. Spending time at the dog parks is one of my favorite ways to de-stress. Additionally, being outside, whether working in the yard with headphones and music, walking trails with the dogs or sitting on a patio listening to wind chimes and birds sing is a must to retain my sanity!My friends and family have remarked that I am empathetic, naturally happy, unpretentious, patient, and have a calming influence on others. Basically, I see the joy in life and the good in people, and more often than not, accept them on their own terms. My goal is to live each day with love, grace, humility and gratitude. I've lived a fabulous live but, the past has not always been “”. However, it has been a wonderful opportunity for learning and growth. As a result, I am free from the past and have moved forward as a better person with more wisdom and life experience. Traits I appreciate in a man: Attractive (someone attractive to me both on the inside and out), intelligent (the ability carry on a cogent conversation and participate in playful banter), articulate (The ability and willingness to speak your thoughts, both positive and negative....What REALLY catches my attention and interest is excellent writing skills with correct spelling and proper grammar.Oh my!!), optimistic, warm, patient (able to laugh at the daily frustrations in life most of the time and can see progress, above imperfection) and a professional persona. Also a love of dogs would be a fantastic bonus, but at least a "like" is necessary.
