Sometimes I think the Hopeless Romantic, yet strong independent woman, finishes last....but I am not giving up yet!! There is nothing like having that "connection" with someone special: they can look into your eyes and understand your mood; hear your sigh and know if it is a relaxing breath or sadness; see your smirk and wonder what is going through that devious mind; sit in silence, but be comfortable together; smile every time "your" song comes on; have a code word when it is time to leave a friend's party because it is time for "US". If you have had this before or want this in your life...then keep reading :-) I am open minded, love to laugh, have fun, make everyone feel comfortable...isn't that what life is about? I can be casual/one of "the guys", but like dressing up for a night on the town. I enjoy nights by a fireplace (or firepit) with wine and a good horror movie, to watching the Bears with beer and wings, to an all out big night dinner, drinks and dancing. Music (and writing) is a true outlet for me. Always seem to have the radio on, a CD in or going to see a band in town with friends. Enjoy Rock, Alternative, Dance, with some Jazz/Easy listening thrown in. Yes, still searching for that fairytale, but I also know that life is not perfect!! But when it is the right person, right situation...it all seems to work. My children are first in my life, and I always have their best interest in mind..HOWEVER, mommy needs her time too and I want to be happy! Family is important to me. Life should be a balance of working hard, playing hard and making memories with family and friends. So it helps if the person I am with has strong family bonds and kids of their own to understand the struggles and joys of parenthood. I am looking for someone motivated, knows what he wants to be when he grows up and can be himself...we are getting too "mature" for games aren't we? Looking for someone to date, that actually is looking for a serious, committed, "in love forever" relationship in the end. So if we click early on....just go with it, don't play the games, and enjoy the ride. Life is definitely too short!! I like someone who can make me laugh, but knows when to be serious, takes care of himself, and has a passionate side if that moment should come around. Physically I like tall men (well, taller than me at least)..just like that "secure" feeling when hugging or dancing with my head on his shoulder or chest. Yes I'm affectionate and like that in return! I have a warm heart, and alot of love, passion & friendship to give..and just want the same in return. I truly believe in chemistry, passion and finding a soulmate, so if it's not "there" after time, it just wasn't meant to be, and if nothing else, one has hopefully made a new friend. If you can be HONEST, open up a bit, be yourself, have fun, smile...we may be on to something! I do NOT smoke, and would prefer the same in return...Thank you!First dates, I believe, should be easy going...no pressure. It can be as simple as getting together for coffee, a drink, or a walk somewhere. You usually know if there is a spark or chemistry after a first date...so the next meeting can be more thoughtful.I tried on Halloween costumes once as a first meeting. Since I'm not one for sugar-coating, I'll be honest and to the point. Distance is not an issue . . . . I'm savvy enough to know that Mr. Right doesn't necessarily live in my zip code. If the connection is strong, details have a way of working out. And who says I have to live here forever?So I'm certain you're wondering if this Colorado gal hikes? Yes, but not if it requires lugging 50 lbs. on my back. Do I ski? Not anymore. I watch and wait by the fire and/or hot tub with a glass of wine in hand. Do I camp? My idea of camping is room service at the Hyatt or a fully equipped RV . Do I climb 14'er's? In these shoes?? Do I fish? Yes, if it's deep sea or dockside on a lake AND, I bait my own hook. Do I hunt? Only for treasures in antique, thrift and junk stores (original American Picker). And I'll watch Duck Dynasty but camo doesn't look good on me. Sports? Yep, I watch . . . mostly football. Put me on a bicycle and I can ride for miles. Love to do anything that involves water including zipping across the waves in a speed boat or pontoon. Gardening is a joy and ONLY my thumb is green. I do know how to use power tools and have a keen decorating sense (couldn't live without duct tape). Enjoys a glass or box of wine (prefer red). Music is always playing (definitely a rocker at heart) and discovering new artists. Love the beach! Contrary to what you're thinking, I’m not high maintenance. I just know who I am, know what I want and won't settle for less. I'm also more than willing to participate in doing the things you like to do (other than bungee jumping or snake hunting). Would like to try zip-lining, taking a hot-air balloon ride or snowmobiling (which I can't believe I've never done!) I’m fiercely independent but definitely have plenty of room in my heart (not so much my closet) for that perfect partner who is confident (will wear that pink shirt), independent (doesn’t need me ***, witty and doesn't sweat the small stuff, caring and giving (your mother taught you well), 5' 11" or taller (I’m tall and like wearing high heels), enjoys adventure and spontaneity and wants to sweep me off my feet in 6 seconds or less. Love the look of a clean-shaven man. Hung up on the age thing? Here's my take . . . if you're over 50, who cares. It's just a number and technically, mine is "unlisted". It's all about how you act, feel, compatibility and how many meds you're taking (none for me!) Disclaimer: my age posted here is off by just a couple of years.If you’re a mugger, pervert, thief, redneck, stalker, scammer (I can spot you in a NY second!), ex-con, real-life clown or knucklehead (might be some wiggle room on that ***please do not apply.And you MUST have a pic or two . . . . staring at the webcam or arm-length selfies don't count.Hmmm, I'm game for about anything except bowling, square dancing, watching paint dry or doing shots of Jagermeister. Seriously, great conversation mixed with a spark or two of good chemistry works very well. And a perfect glass of wine. On the beach. Or Carrabba's.
