Making the time to slow, look inward and embrace what I discover as authentic, sincere, unique, imperfect, worthy. Creating and sustaining balance.I am good at listening and hearing what was said, writing, learning music, considering alternatives and befriending cats. Well?......, adolescent as that may sound, I've never met a cat who didn't like me. I once rescued a 5 year old homeless cat (home foreclosed and abandoned) and we lived happily together for nine years.The first things people usually notice about me?.....I am genuinely curious, trustworthy, sensitive to others' true needs, compassionate, creative, intelligent, easy going, I live a relatively simple lifestyle.Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food? Better shared in person but I'll sample a few in each category here.Books? Nonfiction. Poetry. Self improvement.Movies?Shows? My TV is mostly for distraction and mindless entertainment though I once considered myself a "student" of the media. I don't have much invested in home entertainment or a bazillion channels and these days, I am lucky if I have the time to sit through any serial episode let alone an entire season of anything. I don't typically watch/understand sports though I find televised golf events relaxing, especially if Jim Nantz is doing the play by play...one golden voice! I get news from multiple sources including the web, pbs, networks and npr.Music? Chamber music. Jazz Fusion, I like most kinds of music depending on my mood and whether it moves/speaks to me. Always been more of a B side guy and what's left of my record collection is consistent with that.;T/Ides of March....love those early vibrant soulful horn sections!;..her life was truly one of heartbreak). The Nields, Neko Case, the New Pornographers all are remarkably fresh and creative ensembles....I'm just vamping... too many artists and acts to mention here. Oh and BTW, I like Rap. I feel the need to include that as it seems many of you feel it necessary to indicate your dislike of "rap". Like any genre, there is good and not so good but it all shares a distinction as a uniquely American and powerfully expressive form with variations all over the world. There is some modern music I am completely *** and some that is loud, raw and minimally tolerable. I will listen to it to get an idea as to what is out there and make an informed choice to support it or not. Music continues to evolve with new artists and genres and means of distribution which is exciting but more and more, I listen to classical (esp.As for food? Would rather keep it simple. I am not terribly adventurous when it comes to food, cooking, baking or fine dining.I continue learning to do more with less and appreciating more of what is before me and around me. Discovering how to be present to ordinary life and focusing one day at a time. In other words, exercising my five senses and the wealth of experience they interpret around me. I welcome ideas and opinions and will either agree or challenge but will always come away more enlightened with a new understanding.The things I spend a lot of time thinking about are vast and varied and usually change by the hour. These are better shared in person but generally I return to creating a better work/life balance and becoming a better human being, able to embrace and share more of life's positive, unscripted moments.On a typical Friday night I am relaxing or catching up on sleep or unfinished business because my job involves a good deal of travel.I’m looking forCompanionship (friendship with "benefits" if the chemistry is good and consent is mutually and respectfully given).Ages 35–55Near me (1 hour)You should message me if you are curious, patient, have an open mind and are willing to explore, embrace and share the process of discovery. Suggest you wear steel toed shoes in the beginning.I'm no master chef,but I know how to prepare a meal or just help out in the kitchen when needed. Spending time with family and friends celebrating special events, the holidays, BBQ's is something I always look forward to. Just a small note I need to acquire a new photo of myself since I recently dropped about 20 lbs.
