About Me

I am one of the last of my friends to be single and although I have no problem going out on my own, some people seem to find that daunting and it doesn’t guarantee finding people to hang out with or even to have a decent conversation with. I am also a teacher, so I don’t tend to meet many people professionally and am often bogged down with grading, planning and coaching.I am passionate and whimsical, rational and romantic, intelligent and introspective, silly and sardonic. I love being outdoors (when it isn’t freezing out), rocking out to my favorite music, and writing. I am a bibliophile and have a love affair with words, so if your vocabulary is limited to “yo, your hot” and/or you think proof reading is for nerds, please stop reading now and move along to the next kissy-face picture you come to.I have met a few people online before and have realized that it is ridiculous to hang hope on someone you have a few exchanges with in terms of dating, but people do and there’s an underlying pressure to “like or not to like”, yet everyone I’ve ever dated has been a friend first. Therefore, while I am hoping to encounter someone special, it is more important to meet someone cool to spend time with and take it from there. Ultimately, I want to know and be known. To recognize something in another person that inspires me to be better, while accepting me as I am. I am not sure what it is I’m seeking, but I recognize when it’s missing. Give me a man who speaks fluent sarcasm, who can weave dreams into realities, who can follow my obscure literary and film references, who will call me on my bullsh*t and who will let me know him as I let him know me and I will be fulfilled.Can you tell over coffee or a beer whether there’s enough character in the character beside you to make you want to delve a bit deeper?     Where do I begin?! I am a hard working young ;) lady who enjoys sports, in fact I spend the majority of my time outside of work playing softball, coaching softball, playing hockey, broomball or in the gym.     I work with special needs children at a residential school. I am a call firefighter/First Responder in my local community. I enjoy both jobs and find them very inspiring and humbling. I get to honestly say I make a difference in people's lives. I spend a lot of time with my family and friends. I enjoy going out to dinner, movies, going to sporting events and just being out and about. I LOVE the Patriots and watching them play. Even more importantly, every Sunday in the fall I'm on the sidelines cheering on my nephew and his football team. And I still love him even though he wants to play for the Packers.
