About Me

I am really missing the colder weather right now!! I am a sports fan, lions, tigers, red wings and pistons all the way!!! Hockey is my favorite sport and I will hide the remote and disable all channels that don't show hockey during playoff season lol. I'm not huge into watching games at home though, I'd rather see them in person or at least go to a sports bar. I am very open to trying new things and enjoy a drive with an undetermined destination. Nothing is more relaxing to me than driving a mountainous road with good company or great music!! I have worked in a fire house for a long time which has turned me into a girly tomboy. This has also made me very sarcastic and thick skinned. I can handle a joke but I won't tolerate being disrespected. Things about me... I'm honest, sometimes to a fault, I'm determined, self sufficient, and can strike a conversation with a stranger at any time. I love my kids and raise them in a home that believes in god. I cannot stand selfish, materialistic people. I am not looking for someone to complete my life but someone to compliment it. What I'm looking for... Honesty, non clingy, secure with themselves, someone that has good communication skills, someone who can maturely handle honesty, some who believes in god, understands the value of family and has the same inappropriate humor as I do.     I seek a natural high by enjoying outdoor activities, many of which involve speed. I am happy to try almost anything that brings happiness and a sense of accomplishment. I take a great deal of pleasure in skiing and would love to find someone who shares my passion. I recently went backpacking in South America and it was such an incredible experience that I would like to plan a trip annually. I worked as a Paramedic for 6yrs and thoroughly enjoy the medical field, which has led me to UBC-O Nursing. I play the flute and piccolo, although I haven't been playing much lately. I also have an electric piano that I would love to learn how to play. I have a tendency of taking on more than I have time to handle.I appreciate almost all music genres. Most often I flip between classic rock and top 40; anything that's fun. I enjoy singing and dancing although I can admit a serious lack of talent. I think I might actually take dance lessons this year. I would be up for anything on the first date, but it would be ideal to have some fun and do something that allows us to truly see the other person. I would enjoy meeting up at The Crux or heading for the trails either on foot or two wheels. Unfortunately, I don't have access to my motorcycle, but I am licenced. Between the chairlift and the 'après-ski' we could get to know each other quite well. I am a bit of a 'foodie' so whether I'm cooking at home or headed to a great restaurant, we could definitely bond over tasty food and a bottle of wine.
