Thanks for reading my profile. I know it is long, but I write for a living so it flowed out pretty easily. I am straightforward, but I am never rude and I am always respectful. Don't let my "druthers" scare you away. Now, if you are a glutton for punishment . . . can you read this all the way to the end? :) I have two great kids, a daughter (college grad) who lives abroad and a son ***who lives with me. I haven't dated much as I needed to provide him with a stable home with goals, boundaries, and love. I have done this successfully. I was with the same woman, faithful, since college***years.I have a Juris Doctorate and practiced law for many years in Silicon Valley. I am still licensed but built and run a successful business outside the law practice which is my second love. I am also a well-published author. I'm not mistaken for Al Pacino any longer, but I am the decent looking guy next door. Dark, some say reasonably handsome, Mediterranean DNA, ***with a decent wrestler build. Weight: 150. My hair is dark (no dye!) but I can get a comb through it more easily now. My traits: confident, outgoing, and I love humor. I have grown to become a good listener. I work hard. I treat women well. I am happy in my own skin. I am very spontaneous, and very playful. If you are not (especially the latter), we won't be a good mix. My Caveat: I am NOT a metro-sexual wimpy sort. I have hair on my arms, legs, and chest and it is staying right there. :) I don't get the whole "men trying to look like women" thing going on today. It's just wrong. Call me old fashioned. My ideal date/companion/significant other: She likes laughter (I can be rather silly), enjoys a nice dinner (which I can cook), and is comfortable frolicking in the kitchen with me to cook-tease-drink wine-and laugh (all at the same time). She enjoys movies, hikes, traveling (near and far), and can dress up for a 5-star dining experience or dress down for ribs and beer on a picnic table. I want someone with enough class and poise to introduce into my circle of friends and family, and visa versa. (Don't worry, I clean up pretty well.) Pretentiousness and vanity REALLY turn me off. (Truth be told, it turns of nearly all sincere guys because it exposes shallowness.) I really don't care if your hair is perfect, your nails salon-polished, or your tan is out of a magazine. I really don't. The girl-next-door look and attitude is sweet and honest and much sexier and more naturally appealing. We are all human, imperfect in ways, and no longer 25. I like to do things--read, write, work in the yard, entertain, play an occasional poker game, travel, scuba dive, etc. I never smoke cigarettes, but I enjoy puffing an aromatic rum cigar during a poker game (outside). If this is a deal-breaker (and you are that controlling)--that's fine. But you know now. I am not ripped like I was when I was 30. But I still look good. I do lift some weights, run on a treadmill, do 40 pull-ups every day, and walk a lot. I work hard, so I love my personal time. And I really love to entertain and I have a great house and backyard for it. But . . . I am getting tired doing it alone. (This is just for fun . . .) WHAT YOU MIGHT TELL ME, PART 1: "I am NOT high maintenance. My brain and my character are more important to me than my nails, my boob size, or the smile lines around my eyes and on my cheeks. I intensely dislike drama and all that goes with it. I won't complain about my ex-husband because who wants to hear that more than once? Yes, I have baggage because I have lived a while. WHAT YOU MIGHT TELL ME PART 2: I do NOT have major attachment issues or "severe" fits of insecurity. I know it takes more than three dates to know someone and I won't expect a commitment after one wine and two dinners. I know honest communication is important. I hate mixed messages and I do not practice that destructive art. I am playful, spirited, spontaneous, and the word "sexy" doesn't scare me. Yes, I love touch. It makes the world go around."There . . . that wasn't so hard, was it? :)Ancient Greek historian Herodotus wrote, "Character is destiny." He was right. Do you have it? I do. I know family, friends, faithfulness, kindness, respect, personal chemistry, intellectual conversation, humor, and intimacy [which means "in to me, see"] matter more than American Idol or who has the nicest house. And really, we all have faults and "baggage." If you don't you haven't lived. We just need to find someone who loves and respects and appreciates us enough to help us unpack. We may meet and not be that compatible--and that is OK. That never bothers me. That is life and that is what meeting and dating is all about, right? [I think the bold sentence conclusions in the RELATIONSHIP NEEDS ASSESSMENT are pretty much spot-on, except for the spontaneous part of one of them. Planned and spontaneous work equally well for me.]If you would like to introduce yourself, please do so. :) A very casual meeting over a glass of wine or coffee to see if we have enough compatibility to . . . meet again.

I am looking 4 a m8 where the pond is full of fish.I also do not spend money on social media sites. It never seems to matter what's written here. Be too serious and your personality doesn't get a chance to shine through. Be too funny and nobody will take you seriously.I like to believe that I have a good head on my shoulders; I am not into head games. I'm not perfect and I'm not a project for anyone; I'm just me. I carry no emotional baggage. I have a big soft heart that is there for the right person. I’m; positive, emotionally mature, financially responsible, healthy, confident, friendly and happy. I currently carry a few extra pounds and currently working at shaving them off; want to help? You will find me somewhat shy or reserved at first until I get to know someone. I love to listen about how your day was however it can't all be negative, there always something good in there somewhere. I like to think I'm open, honest and good at communicating, mostly once the ice is broken. I will tell it like it is though. I love giving and receiving hugs, and believe what kisses, holding hands, cuddling will do for a healthy relationship.I like wrenching on my Jeep, playing golf, curling in the winter and throwing a few darts. I enjoy cooking; enjoy it more if I'm cooking with somebody, and love to use the BBQ. I can make breakfast and would love to for the right person. My ultimate goal;My Don'ts:I don't drink coffee or tea, never have.Allergic to cats, sorry but can't be in a house that has them.I will not subscribe to this site.No picture no replies!! No ending the day mad at each other, work out the differences. Forgiveness and keeping the relationship youthful and exciting is a priority. You are well grounded and independent, financially responsible, healthy, positive, emotionally mature, intelligent, confident, possess common sense and thinks reasonably and rationally, friendly and happy, not needy or high maintenance. You can relax watching a movie, TV or watching sports on the television; maybe taking the opportunity to cuddle while doing so.You believe that a relationship actually is about teamwork and that there is a goal to work towards, challenges should be met together.
