When Harry Met Sally and You've Got Mail are two of my favorite rom-coms and I want to find something like that.I mean, I'm no Tom Hanks, but who is? (...well, Tom Hanks, but you're over-thinking this...) What I mean is, I want to find a relationship that's witty, and fun, and romantic, and passionate... and slightly over-scripted!I've been single for a long time and I'd like to change that. But here's the rub: A relationship is a waste of time if it doesn't make you happy. That is the main reason that I have been single and that is the standard that must be met. The only thing that is greater than happiness in a relationship is respect.I'm interested in dating, but I want to find someONE who's interested in dating me and giving things a solid go. I'm not looking for "the one" and I'm not talking about getting too serious too fast, but if you're looking to casually date some different people to "see how it goes" I'd recommend you try the guy with the shirtless bathroom selfie you saw a few minutes ago; I'm simply not interested in putting in effort to have it tossed aside for some chad in bedazzled jeans. (seriously, what is the deal with those?!!)Okay, thanks to things like Twitter (hate it, I never use it except for work - I'll explain later) I feel like this is already getting too long and I'm losing some of you, so I'll try to keep the "about me" part as short as possible.I'm kind of all over the place, quite frankly. I'm an old fashioned kind of guy (yes, that means I'm going to pay for the first date, but you get bonus points if you at least reach for the cheque ;P) but I have a lot of modern ideas and morals. Here's a quick run-down of a few things:- I love to wear suits (almost every day, just because I can... and they look great!)-..)- I draw cartoons as a hobby (for now) and am attracted to artistic or musical people- I love classical music and jazz - real jazz" Sinatra, Connick Jr.- if it makes you think of two-tone shoes, fedoras and misogyny, it's my bag, baby!- I was raised on Country music and still love it- I laugh my ass off at Louis C.K. and other standup comics-S.-gl/EWCUUI and this: http://goo.gl/66tHvl- I reference movies and TV shows a lot (A LOT), so I hope you like Seinfield, The Simpsons, Community, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother... the list goes on- I love to cook- I go to the gym... because I love to cook. :P-- Gender roles do not define who we are, but, damn it, they exist for a reason! I think women look amazing in a dress and heels, I like to hold the door for you, and I like to feel like I can protect you. This has nothing to do with one gender being better, or with your ability to vote, earn money, or kick my ass in sports; we're just different and that is magnificent.- I'm a big cuddler (and if you run your fingers through my hair, you win!)- I'm into video games - the latest were: Borderlands 2, Trine 2, Psychonauts, Limbo and Fable 3- I will not tolerate drama (in life). Life is hard enough without someone assuming the worst about everything you say or inventing some reason to get pissy at you. Chill out, remove your head from your ass, and just have a good time.- I love drama (on the stage). I have tickets to go see Les Miserables at the Actor's Studio in Nov. with some friends and I am very excited.- I love going to restaurants or grabbing a drink at the pub- I need several drinks at the pub before I will even think about going to the clubs with you; not a fan - see my previous comments about chads.- :P )Okay, that's enough about me. I think I've been suitably witty and reasonably honest here, so now you can tell me about you! Coffee to start? I love to grab a Starby's and take a stroll. Or just anything where we can talk at ease.Once we know there is wit and will enough for a second dance, I'll cook you a sumptuous meal. We'll recline on a blanket to eat, sipping wine - something soft and jazzy playing in the background - learning more about each other or simply enjoying the poetry of the silence .Dessert? Im pretty out going but I would like someone to go out with, I'm not going to go hiking by myself. There are dozens of things that i would like to do but never get the chance, kayaking, maybe sailing. I'm honest and trust worthy, and punctual. I call when I say I'm going to call and I remember important dates. Right now I'm restoring an old muscle car, so that takes up a lot of time and money. If I'd known just how much money I wouldn't have started, but I know I'll love it when it's done.I've also picked up reading as a new obsession, rather than listen to the radio all day long, I play audio books. I'm at about one book every two days, one day if it's a fantastic book. I'm in around the seventeen per month area, currently I'm reading the top ***sci-fi books of all time, I'm on number 30 or something, 32? The Andromeda strain.
