About Me

Hello,I'm trying the dating thing out again. We'll see - I'm not big on dating, I'd rather just be comfortable in a relationship, but I take a long time to get to that point. I work full time and also am a full time single mom. I have a degree in forensics and biology, but I haven't really used either. I have a three- I am looking for someone who is intelligent and who knows he's ready to grow up and realize there's more to life than a party and a hook up. I enjoy the intimacy and vulnerability that a relationship brings. I'd like to be married at some point but am in no rush - my goal is to find a man that I can love and trust 100%, but also that my daughter can feel the same way about. I'm not opposed to dating someone who has kids, but I'd prefer one or none - and if he does have any that they be close to my daughter's age, so that we can embark on parenting together. I find it very important to be able to have an adult conversation with someone who uses proper grammer, doesn't talk with his/her mouth full, and understands social faux pas like talking in a normal voice in a movie theater...these are sure fire ways to turn me off. I don't expect relationships to come without problems, but I want to be with someone who knows that they take work and communication, rather than running away from issues. Please don't assume my daughter is a mistake just because I've never been married; I intended on having a child - she's the best thing in my life and I want someone who is ok with being a part of this life with us. I don't need someone to "take care of us"; I work hard and provide for my daughter without welfare, and though it can be tight at times, I want a partner versus a sugar daddy (I.e. even if you cold provide for a full family...I'd probably still insist on having a career of my own). I love all types of music, but you'll most likely find country in my car. Depends on my mood...when I'm studying, it's classical. I enjoy activities that range from mini-golf or a nice walk or bike ride, to going to a movie, getting dinner, or grabbing a drink (the few times that happens anymore). Other times, I'm all about hanging at home watching a movie on HBO and having a glass of wine, all alone. I'm a very rare drinker, but I do enjoy a couple periodically if my daughter's not around.I know what I want, and I'm through with the behavior of trying to change men. If I don't feel enough of a connection or don't see what I want within the first few times of hanging out, I don't plan on dragging things out. I don't like to waste my time. That said, please don't think I'm "too serious" on a dating site - as I've been told before. I love to laugh, and I am incredibly sarcastic. I wish I was a wittier person. I don't take internet dating any more "seriously" as dating someone I met through friends or at a bar...it's just a different medium to use to meet people when you don't have the ability to get out much anymore. If you're rude to me off the bat, I won't just giggle and keep talking to you...I don't care WHERE I meet you. I don't need someone to lie about meeting me online, so people that think they're "stooping" to a level to be on here...please don't message me. Personally, I think online dating is at least a step up from a drunk hook up at the bar.Ha...ok, that's a lot of gettting to know me, so if you're STILL reading, you hopefully are interested. Please message me!! I like laid back but public places, somewhere social is best. Bowling or something is always fun and can keep things moving, but can also be paused for talking. Restaurants and/or bars are OK, but can get awkward if the conversation doesn't take off. Honestly, I love seeing movies on a date, I just don't want that to be the only thing a first date would consist of. At least dinner first or a drink afterwards too :) I won't meet someone for the first time at home (mine or yours), so please don't even ask for that.

Looking for: man. In age: 25-35

Majority of the people closest to me in my life have, at some point, used the the term "weird" to describe me. I think what makes me unique is the fact that I take a strange sense of pride in that. I am who I am, and I'm almost never what people expect me to be. I'm definitely a work in progress. I'm a writer.-minded, and optimistic. I'm a single-mother and while I have absolutely no idea what the hell I'm doing half the time what I can say is that I'm doing the absolute best that I can. I enjoy many genres of music, both my brother and dad are great musicians and though I thoroughly enjoy a little bit of everything they dabble in-- I love my hip hop, R&B and rap. My goals and aspirations include: going back to school and finishing my B.O.S. in journalism (with emphases in PR), possibly taking up a double major in business with hopes to one day create and own my own promotional marketing agency, write an inspirational book or novel, be an even better mother and successful in raising my son. My hope for him is to be even more than I ever dreamed I could be.

Creative, witty and courageous, I tend to think with my heart first. I know when a situation calls for elegance but I know how to make a sailor blush. I'm a lover of nature and will stop to try to make friends with a squirrel.I’m really good at:Cereal to milk ratio; grilled-cheese master; imaginative-thinking; using semi-colons; hunting through a Value Village jungle; being a brunette; quoting the Simpsons;) I am guilty of reading magazines more than novels. For movies I love the classics. The last three films I saw were Life of Pi, Zero Dark Thirty and When Harry Met Sally. For music, I respect all genres but prefer to listen to indie-rock rather than top 40. TV shows I can't miss are Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Parks & Rec, 30 Rock, Girls and (even though it drives me bananas, I can't seem to stop watching) How I Met Your Mother, Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, Coronation Street, Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire. For food, I will try anything at least once. I love Thai and Indian, sushi...I love spicy! The six things I could never do without:LaptopFleetwood MacRandom acts of kindnessMannersHumourAss-flattering jeansI am looking for a mans-man, a dude-man:• Ages 29–40• Near me• Who are single• For new friends, long-term datingYou should message me ifYou're indifferent about cars, you appreciate art and theatre and you know when to put your cellphone away.

A hopeless romantic who is pretty upbeat, financially responsible, and light-hearted. I tend to lend a helping hand when appropriate so if you do not have a compassionate heart we are not a match.
