I like the ruralness of it. With less than 600,***people, it's easy to go anywhere and run into someone you know.After careers in administration, human resources, retail and restaurant ownership and as a real estate broker, I have settled into life as a farmer. For the past 5 years I have had a small organically run farm and have become quite involved with the local food movement. I founded a local farmers market and a local food alliance. I am looking forward to my 26 year old son expanding and running the operation so I can travel and spend more time in the mountains and at the lake.I am an excellent cook and enjoy having appreciable guests over for a night of home cooked deliciousness and good conversation at the Farm. Playa Zancudo is a wonderful place to spend at least 6 weeks in the winter. I wouldn't mind making it an annual habit.Fall is my favorite time of year. While it doesn't get too hot where I live, I really enjoy the crisp mornings and beautiful fall colors, especially at my beloved New Fork Lake. I do try to spend most weekends (mine are Sunday and Monday) at New Fork Lake boating and fishing. My camper becomes my cabin at the lake.I am fond of hunting also and try to at least get a deer each year. It will be his first year.Holidays are a favorite family time for me. A good meal with a home raised turkey or ham. Special loving time with family and friends. That's the best.
