Hi guys!.. I'm an independent, openly affectionate, fun lovin' mother of an awesome 24 year old son...with a love for MUSIC, ANIMALS/nature & comedy. I enjoy workin' out a couple times a week. Tryin' to tone up...lose some weight and live a healthier, happier lifestyle. (Already payin' off!) It would be nice to interact with like-minded individuals. I like to fish...and YES...I bait my own hook! I have a HUGE lovin' heart, a sharp mind (above average)...admittedly suffers from occasional "blond moments". HUSH! It’s part o'me charm. *Giggle* I'm animated with a WARPED sense of humor...a bit of a smahtazz...but ONLY in fun. I'm outspoken in a matter of fact, logical kind of way. I'm a very open, effective communicator...and would appreciate the same. I avoid drama...I'll walk away from an argument. Sort of tomboy/jeans & T shirt type... I'm pretty laid back for the most part...easy to get along with...with an occasional playful hyper streak that can get me into trouble if I get the giggles. (I could very well be the ONLY volunteer parent in history to be put in "time out" in my son's kindergarten class. LOL) Sort of a loner/homebody at times...but I do like to get out and do things. Very easy to please...not materialistic...jus' wanna love and be loved. I enjoy anything sensual…LOVE to kiss, or anything that provokes laughter or deep thought. I also enjoy sharin' new interests and ideas. And might I add...that I have an inner "rocker child" jus' itchin' to get out! \m/O^O\m/My son is the MOST important thing in my life...that goes without sayin'...but right now...I am focusin' on my level of happiness for a change. He's doin' his own thing back in SC...and though I HAVE dated since I left my ex...I've never brought a man into our home. I don’t believe in paradin’ men/women around children…so I’ve put a lot of my own needs on the back burner to be a GOOD, committed single mom. Now that I have raised my son I feel like I can finally "exhale"...so to speak. I'm tryin' to broaden my circle of friends...and maybe let someone special into my life. I'm not in a big hurry...things should develop naturally over time.At the risk of interjecting negativity...I'll not meet anyone without a recent photo (C'mon y'all...we were all hot back in high school! LOL)...one taken within the past couple of years will suffice. Nor will I meet anyone I've not spoken with on the phone. Once weboth reach a certain level of comfort...we can meet on a "no promises/no expectations" basis and see where it leads. (No players or "one night stands"...self respect thing y'know.) If we make a mutual connection...and it goes there...I'd love to explore a romantic, long-term relationship. If it blossoms into something deep and meaningful...wonderful! (But please don't lead me to believe that we share somethin' more...if we don't.)     Depending on the situation or activity, I can be low-key and reserved or high-energy. And, it's difficult to compare myself with others but I feel I'm in very good physical shape...I enjoy hiking, cycling (road cycling and rail-trails) and still use my cross-country skis. My preference would be to enjoy your company and get to know you while we spend time together outdoors...why don't we meet up to go kayaking, canoeing, hiking, or sailing together? (There are many rivers and lakes to explore in Pa.) When I have any free time, I prefer spending it outdoors or going to concerts. I studied visual arts in college and taught arts & humanities for most of my career.- June through mid- At some point, I would like to ..canoe in the Adirondackes, sail anywhere, hike in the White Mts. of NH, Shining Rock Wilderness Area in NC or State Parks in Pa., do some star-gazing in remote areas, and find time to draw/paint outdoors. I've had to be practical while raising my daughter and have stuck it out for her (in the middle of nowhere and hours from anywhere). Now that I can retire..or cut back to an easier part-time job, I will have more time to travel. I am seeking direction on this site (but, I wonder is this too idealistic or unrealistic?..).), enjoy the outdoors, learn a folk ***, and spend more of my free time volunteering. Music: americana 'roots', folk, world, celtic, swing/big band, some rock. Favorite recent songs: 'That's the way love goes.' (Shawn Colvin &; Ride). Books: currently reading The Plot Against America. Favorite books last year: The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration, Blink, Outliers. It's also nice to get together for an activity such as a hike.
