We were working with my Mom at my parents place planning their 60th wedding anniversary. My father walked through the room and my Mom looked at me and said that she still gets butterflies in her stomach when my Dad walks through the room. My Dad will walk through on his way out the door, stop by Mom, touch her check and give her a gentle kiss. They have always been a loving couple, but most of all they are each other’s best friend. They understand that they each have their own flaws, but do not try to change each other, but are willing to understand that it is part of their makeup. So yes I am a romantic. I want someone who will bring the butterflies. I want the gentle touch and kiss for no reason. I want a friend who will listen and not judge. I want someone who has made life’s mistakes, but has learned from them, and does not dwell on them. Too many dwell on the past…the past is a springboard not a hammock. I enjoy going out and being active with the person I am seeing, it can be good to see how they react to different situations, but I also don’t need the outside stimuli. I really just like spending time alone together, snuggled up before a fire talking and getting to know the person. Another thing I need in a relationship is someone who can understand I have children. They are older and are very independent, but there are times when they are around and we very much enjoy each other’s company. Adding to the family with my parents have 49 grandchildren and 23 and counting great grandchildren). We all love to laugh, dance and enjoy being together. We all support each other no matter what we may be going through. Meet for a cup of coffee or a drink and get to know each other.
