About Me

I'm looking for a partner with whom I can live an average, middle class life. Minimal drama would be nice.I'm not looking for children, but I do think about people in poverty from time to time and, as a result, I'd like to sponsor some impoverished children through freethinking, non-religious humanitarian organizations. I really don't have the guts to make a 'living' helping others because I value some First World commodities and creature comforts and, also, because I don't necessarily think that morality is objective.I wouldn't consider myself to be extremely 'goody goody', but with a lot of thought and effort, I've come to the conclusion that focusing on the worst cases in society (suffering children) is probably the most important. If you're okay with the notion of a life that's comfortable minus excessive comforts (so we can help children), then that's great. Please message me or rate my profile to show interest.Other things about me? Well, I'm an atheist and I'm pretty confident in the notion that all monotheistic gods do not exist. I've worked a lot on this and I don't see these feelings ever changing in my life.I work at a craft store and study art in my spare time. I'd like to get a job in the concept art industry, but, mind you, I'd like to not get lost in finances and wealth. I'd always like to keep a balance between creature comforts and helping others.Books- Philosophy stuff, Psychology/Psychiatry textbooks (learning about what happened to me is interesting/useful), Atheist or Atheism-related books, books on Poverty and Human Rights. Mathematics of 3D Rendering. Anything History or Science-related is great, too.MoviesSchindler's List was and is my favorite film.TelevisionDocumentaries are always a pleasure.-- in wonder and awe of the universe.MusicAnything that makes me feel rich and deep emotions.I'd like to pick up the classical guitar again -- I took lessons a ways back and, in hindsight, it was very enjoyable. The most private thing I'm willing to admitI've been diagnosed 'schizoaffective depressed', but it by no means defines me. I am very functional. I drive and work... and I'm by no means seriously depressed. As always, I expect to lose a lot of friends and potential loves because of this, but I feel it's important to share this before getting into conversations with people.I probably won't message you first unless if you rate my profile positively. I've lost count of how many messages I've sent to people, only to have them reject me because of the schizoaffective label. I try to rate to show interest. If you're interested, rate me back and I will likely message you.I appreciate it if you've listed your religious beliefs on your profile. If you're brave enough to identify as an atheist/agnostic/other, I'm proud of you and interested.

Like most of you, I love to travel. But I'm enjoying being back in my native, soon-to-be-frozen city.I'm getting my Ph.D because I want to work in academia, probably teaching at a law school. Right now, I have a couple of jobs based in legal research and writing and I'm an editor extraordinaire. When my nose is not in a book, I'm out being active. I love to find interesting things to do around town. After college I realized I had been doing basically the same thing every single night, and I have a major fear of seeing my life like that ever again. Still, I try to be outdoors-y even in this iron playground. I appreciate all kinds of music, but a seeing a good rock or jazz concert live is amazing. I like going to stand-up comedy shows, and I've even frequented a handful of symphonies in the past few years.; yeah, whatever, I'm cultured.....No, not really. When you meet me, you'll realize I evince more of the beach bum, easygoing attitude I relished in SD. But I read a ton, and I like to share things I've learned (part of why I want to teach). Still, I feel like this means more than just blurting out random trivia. It's more about engaging in a conversation, and picking up on what interests the other person. I'm looking for someone beautiful, intelligent, and with some sort of unique character. I tend to see the good in people, so I'm sure this applies to you. It depends, we should probably meet up for a drink and chat first. If I already know the you, I'd go with the dinner pus some fun event. But obviously there should be some ice breaker off the internet.
