People who know me best describe me as honest, loyal, thoughtful, smart, confident, and kind. I don't mind confrontation or debating issues, but I don't desire drama. I'm a big proponent of direct communication. I want to have fun! I want to meet someone who can make me laugh. A sense of humor that blends well with my own (sarcastic/witty) is important to me. I'm ultimately looking for a best friend and a partner in life. Sidebar-- he is probably not someone who is ultra-conservative, has never held down a job longer than a year, drives a H2/H3, speaks improper English as a lifestyle choice, smokes, or describes himself as "slender." Feel free to attempt to prove me wrong, but these are things I'm pretty sure of ;) I get just as excited for a night out on the town as a night in on the couch and like a good balance in my life of activity and relaxation. I'm a huge Buckeyes fan. I'm also a Steelers fan, which tends to offend people. I'm ok with that. I also enjoy going to Indians and Cavs games (I'm not a total traitor). I love hockey but haven't started following a professional team as of yet. I enjoy watching my Redhawks do well each year. I love dogs, warm rain, theater, snail mail, coffee, football season, farmers markets, spending time with family and friends, reading, wine, yoga, the beach, bargain shopping, taking pictures, traveling, flowers, and being outside whenever possible. I dislike winter, peas, most country music, rudeness, smoking, hypocrisy, know-it-alls/one-uppers, improper use of the passing lane, stingy tippers, passive-aggressive behavior, Nickelback, and bigotry. I have a handful of very close friends, tons of acquaintances, and not many people in between. I tend to spend the majority of my time and energy on the people that mean most to me - my family & best friends. I'm not a big fan of an actual "date" for a first meeting. I'd rather get a drink at a bar or coffee shop and go from there. It's much less of an awkward/forced experience with no pressure.

Honestly, I never thought I would be back here...but, things happen and here I am. Even as a high school English teacher, I find it ridiculously hard to write about myself so now I know the pain my students go through when they hear the words "personal narrative." As a divorced single mom of an awesome ***year old boy, I stay pretty busy with the best little guy around, but I want to have someone special in my life. I love my job and have an amazing group of students that makes coming to work every day worth it. I love to cook and bake and probably would have made a great 50's housewife...minus the stay at home with the kids thing. Being a working mom makes me a better mom. I try and get to the gym several times a week because, unbelievably, I discovered a few years ago that not only is working out a great reliever of stress but that I actually ENJOY it. I am looking for someone to spend quality time with. Who is willing to think outside of the box and try new things. Someone who will take risks and is not afraid to date a mom with a great kid...so someone who loves kids. I love trying new restaurants and experiencing new things and there is nothing like a night at the ballpark under the lights. Someone who will make me laugh, who has a great smile and sense of humor. Someone who is willing to send me a good morning text just because. Someone who will make me a priority in his life. Someone to have as a best friend.
