I am a special education teacher for children with Autism. I absolutely love what I do and I am very passionate about it. I just did the Polar Plunge to raise money for the Special Olympics, nothing like an ice cold dip in the middle of March! Working in such a female dominated profession make it a lot harder to meet people, so I thought I'd give this a try.I am a complete klutz, definitely not athletic but I'm pretty health conscious and keep myself in shape. I'm all for chasing some kids around the playground or hitting the gym though. I definitely look for a healthy outlook in a guy as well.I absolutely love the city, if it was closer to work I'd move there in a heartbeat. It is awesome having so many options right around the corner. I can always find something new and different to do. Plus is doesn't hurt that there are a few decent beaches to hit in the summer.

I am laid back, I love to travel. I have been to Australia for study abroad, and I have taught ESL in Istanbul, Turkey. A little about me--I enjoy day hikes, tennis, all kinds of music, and the beach/ocean. The beach is probably my favorite place; the sound of ocean waves are so relaxing. I enjoy star gazing on warm evenings too but that has been tough since moving to DC (city lights are too bright for it). I look forward to exploring more of Europe--so much history and great art! I am pretty adventurous and am willing to try most anything new. I am a middle child & grew up in St. Louis, MO. I did my post-doc at UNC & then came to the DC-area for work.
