I have a good idea of what I am not looking for in a significant other but no idea of exactly what I am looking for (that makes sense in my mind...lol).Fit / Healthy: Its hard to be fit at 40+, I live it and respect in others. I understand 40 years old isn't 20 and don't expect you to be. I am ok with a little extra but if your ***lbs. over weight I am not ok with that. Medically stable: If your drink heavily are popping pills just to make it through the day or psychologically unstable, forget it, not happening, been there done it twice, got the t shirt, divorce papers and scars. Smoking: I quit 12 years ago, can not and will not deal with being around it. About me: 5' 10", ***lbs., have my own house, truck, motorcycle and job, I work to live and not live to work, I will do anything for people I love, I keep my word if humanly possible, I have NEVER cheated on anyone, I'd really like to find someone who compliments my life style and I theirs. I have done 11 sprint distance triathlons but missed the last 2 years due to shoulder issues. I still try and work out regularly and would love someone who can keep up or even challenge me to keep up with them.I am happy with who and what I am, worked hard to get where I am physically and financially. (not rich or ripped)I have 4 children who are the most important people in my life, 25, 22, 10yr old daughters and 17yr old boy, joint custody of 10yr old, other 3 are on their own.I have time to date and will make time for someone I am serious about if you can't or won't I am not your man.This is dating and supposed to be fun. I'm a positive person- life is too short for lots of drama. :) I've never been married (but would like to be someday) and would also like to have a child or adopt. My parents were married for 40 years until my Mom died. My father's advice to me was "find someone who will be your best friend". I'm looking for that combined with all the romance, passion, chemistry, fun, spontaneity- all rolled into one package. It happened for my parents, I've seen it happen for my friends too, so that's what I'm looking for too. I'm a romantic and really enjoy doing nice things for people I care about. I like to travel- visit new places, be spontaneous. I enjoy good music, concerts/live bands, hiking, kayaking, photography, charity work/volunteering, walking on the beach at sunset, and home improvement projects. I love music- was a DJ on the radio for ten years- worked at several radio stations playing classic rock, christian, oldies, and top 40 music formats.***somewhere with great live music, concerts all the time, restaurants, and outdoor activities- lots of places to go kayaking, hiking etc. God is in control- so we'll see how he leads that.I'm a Christian. I've made my share of mistakes in the past- just like the next person - hopefully I've learned a few lessons along the way. :-) I'd say a good first date would be meeting at a nice restaurant - somewhere quiet where we can just be relaxed and enjoy a nice evening of good food and conversation. :)
