I am a full fledged urbanite but I prefer the forest, the ocean, wooden homes, stained glass and potlucks with friends. I like to sleep in tents, ride my bike, be in & on the water, say yes to things that scare me, air guitar like no one's looking & read the New Yorker (not necessarily all at the same time). I eat Szechuan & I have a 7-year-old god-daughter. Your mom will like me. I have a career that’s unique, demanding & totally fulfilling.; volunteered with orphans in Romania (where I was also bitten by a feral dog). I’m addicted to TV (I don’t mean the educational shows) & therefore don’t own one. I’m not however, addicted to anything else & would prefer you aren’t either. I’m always looking for ways to grow & learn & so am usually enrolled in a class, some kind of training, personal development work, etc. You being well-educated, versatile & adventurous would be likely. You can count on me to be engaging, funny and to keep you on your toes. I’m very perceptive but I’m no mind reader so it’s important that you be someone who communicates honestly, clearly & often. I’m seeking a guy who is willing to own his humanity (the good, the bad & the ugly) & who wants to grow & learn throughout his lifetime. I like to hear other people's opinions and perspectives. I also appreciate silence and quiet enjoyment. I love to cook, i think I'm not bad at it, but you'd have to be the judge of that. Traveling is important to me as well, I have travelled quite a bit but there are still lots of places on my list. I'm not big on going to the bar but I love going out for dinner, especially just a casual meal with a few friends.I enjoy music a lot. I often play it loud in my truck, loud in my ski helmet and background in my house. I like alternative, Indie, some rock through to some electronic, dub and even classical. I like a lot of music from UK, Australia and Iceland seems to be doing well of late. I like to see live bands and orchestras.     I would like to think that my last few years of single life have taught me a few things about myself.I've learned that patience is always a virtue, but sometimes too much can cause problems.I've learned that compromise is important but you also need to not be as flexible.I've learned that laughter is essential in everyday life along with hugs and kisses and hand holding.And most of all I have learned that you must must must communicate, no communication leads to confusion, leads to sadness, leads to misunderstandings and then everyone gets hurt.I'm a single mom who is involved in my childs life. My child will always be #1, never #2.I volunteer often for different things, they bring a bit of peace to my heart knowing I did something good for someone.I do enjoy different types of outings, movies, dinners out, music, comedy, or just a nice stroll somewhere to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. But you can't beat a nice quiet night in with a silly movie, a serious movie or just a plain old scary movie....and a nice bottle of wine. Spending time with that special someone is important to me, but I do realize that space is needed sometimes to regroup and breathe.I have chosen a serious relationship as my ultimate goal, but first ....gotta meet, gotta date, gotta see if we can even stand eachother. Unless of course someone has invented a time warp to get us past the awkward confusing part of dating and get to the good stuff!!
