My cousin once said to me "I don't know *how* you're still single!" Well, I'm not quite sure either, but part of it is because I'm happy enough on my own and won't "settle", and that I can sometimes come across as a little intimidating (rather than just confident). (Now, just because I'm happy enough on my own doesn't mean that I want to be on my own forever, it just means that I'm going to wait until I meet the right guy rather than rush into something that's "good enough". Make sense? Like someone once said, it's better to be single than to be in a bad relationship. If it's worth it, I'll work for it; if it's not, I won't... Having said that, I should warn you that I tend to not jump into things too quickly. I like to take some time to get to know somebody before making a decision one way or the other. I don't want to miss out on anything, but I also don't want to make a premature commitment...)I think the easiest way to tell you about myself is to just give you my "laundry list" :)Me:- single (never been married***don't have any kids (but definitely want them)- independent- intelligent- love to travel and go camping! (but always love getting back home, too - there's nothing like sleeping in your own bed when you've been away for a while)- realist- optimist (yes, it may seem to contradict the "realist" above, but it doesn't really)- romantic- sarcastic (who me? nah...!)- slightly offbeat sense of humour - sometimes people just don't "get it"- generous- confident- easy going- like (and have) tattoos (I have 4 right now, all pretty small) (I also have my nose pierced)- not a big animal person...- Non-smoker--; Prejudice (and yes, I like the classic "chick flick" too...)You:- similar to me, but with enough differences to make life interesting :***know who you are, and know what you want out of life- enjoy camping and travelling- like going to folk fest (or are happy to humour me and keep me company)- adventurous, spontaneous, easy going- appreciate and enjoy spending time with friends and family- as comfortable getting dressed up and going out as wearing sweats and staying in - want kids (this is a dealbreaker for me, and I'd like them sooner than later, but won't rush it just 'cause)- think family (in general) is importantMy one big deal-breaker (aside from wanting kids) is if you're a smoker. Sorry, but if you smoke, I'm not interested.I think that's it for now...although I do want to say that these aren't "requirements", just "wishes", and by no means a list of specifications that you must meet...lolIf I've "favourited" you, it's because I'm intrigued and want to say hi but I either didn't get a chance right away, or I'm not sure what to say...feel free to say hi first, or wait until I do...either one works. :-)(and fair's fair - you've seen my photo, I'd like to see yours - I pretty much won't reply if you don't have one) Lunch, drinks or coffee would be a good start (on a patio in the summer, of course!). If things go well, then maybe go for a walk, or out for dessert. As long as it's something where we can talk and get to know one another, I'm up for it!Just a word of caution - I'm not one to wait a long time before wanting to meet...chatting online is fun and fine for a bit, but the whole point here is to actually meet people, right? :-)

    I moved to the seacoast a year ago and have been nothing but pleased with my decision. I feel like a new person yet totally like myself at the same time. Taking time to appreciate the simple things in life and participate in anything and everything are high on my to do list. I'm looking to meet new people, learn new things and laugh quite a bit in the meantime. Random points:I think manners are important; just say please and thank you...it makes life so much more pleasurable. I like the word ladle and plethora. The world is enormous and meant to be to explored, my list is long and my memories run deep. I don't understand people who drive 60 in the fast lane. I love clouds, they make me feel safe and happy. I don't understand the "yo check out my new haircut" haircut. Seriously? You think that looks good? This year I've been getting into spicier foods and even tried some of my "no way in hell will I ever eat that" items. Carharts, scruffy faces, nice teeth, family love, personal pride, acknowledging fears and being tastefully sarcastic are high on my list. It's a rare day when I don't sing at the top of my lungs and wiggle it just a little bit. A frog crawled out of my bathtub drain on my birthday and my brother screamed like a little girl, it was an amazing day. I've got goals and ambition and appreciate people with the same qualities. My friends kids make me laugh really, really hard. I just applied to be a Big Sister and I'm eagerly awaiting the results-I want to spend some free time helping others.-ha!). I'm a summer sun baby at heart but I can't wait for long walks through the leaves while sipping some coffee and watching the seasons change. Coffee, Guinness, Pelegrino...whatever. A chit chat, a walk, laughing hopefully, some witty banter and conversation. I'm capable of walking and talking (gum chewing may throw me off a bit). Casual at first makes me feel most comfortable.
