Before you read too far, just wanted to note that I have sole custody of my son, and he is with me full time. If that doesn't faze you, read on, the next sentence might, haha! Here we go...Single mom to a 10-year-old son. He and I are quite the team and have tons of fun. That said, there are times when I need to escape, and think I am ready to step out on a date! Honestly, I'm a lil' scared at the prospect of trying again, so I prefer to treat this as simply meeting new friends. I work very hard, and my son, he comes first, so it leaves little time to relax and converse. But I'm willing to try if you're not certifiably crazy, still curious about life, and not always lazy. As for me, I am impatient, tenacious, and slightly neurotic at times. Like my incessant need to make all this crap rhyme! On the flip-side, however, I am loving and kind; and a horrible liar who loves to kick back and unwind.I want someone who is passionate in all his endeavors, who is always a gentleman, quick-witted, and clever. I have used this time to focus on my son, to grow as a woman and a mother, and to just...be. Until recently, and even still at times, I have felt that being a single parent and dating were very difficult to co-mingle, so for the most part, I chose to focus on being a mother as it was what I felt was right, and quite honestly, it was easier. That being said, I feel that now that my son is getting older, it is a little easier for me to allow myself to date without guilt. I am not looking for anything casual. Dating with children is just not the same as dating pre-children (at least not for me). I am a 44-year-old woman and mom looking for a real connection with someone who gets that at this stage of life, with children, it really is a package deal. I hope to find someone who gets me, who gets single-parenthood, who gets that in order for there to be an us, there has to be a mutual respect for our children and our respective situations. Wow, this is harder than I thought. Wanted to clarify a few of the above question/answers.As far as smoking goes, I don't mind if someone smokes I just don't want to hang out with an ashtray, so chain smokers need not apply. Religion, I myself am not a church goer, I don't mind if you are, but if you are trying to recruit someone I am not the girl for you.I am a laid back tank top and jeans kinda girl, however I can dress up when the need arises.. My family and friends are very important to me, they have always been my rock and have helped me navigate through life's trials and tribulations. I don't have any regrets, I feel that every choice and decision I have made good or bad has shaped my life. I like camping, hanging out with friends and family, watching movies, reading and music, horse back riding, off-roading, etc. I listen to all different kinds of music my cd/iPOD collection is pretty versatile. I am a single mom and have raised my daughter on my own for the most part. We have 2 dogs 3 cats and 1 horse. I have compassion for animals when I was young I think I brought home almost every stray I ever found. ( thanks to my Hero my Grandpa ( who has passed) I got to keep them. My friends would say I have a great sense of humor I am easy going and can strike up conversations pretty easily. I laugh loud, cry at sad movies and curse at stupid drivers. ( which my daughter says is stupid because they can't hear me)I am looking for someone who has similar interests, likes dislikes etc. I am independent, loyal, hard working, spontaneous, opinionated, loving. I will do anything for my friends and family. Trust me when I say I will have your back if you have earned it! You must like animals, of all kinds. My animals are part of my family. I like to tease and joke and can take it as well, i am not ultra sensitive. I am who I am and I am not going to change.
