I'm a mess of contradictions... I love sleeping in a tent while backpacking for days, but can't seem to stay at a hotel with less than 4 stars. I will drop everything for a friend but hate asking for help. I'll debate you blue about politics, religion, or any hot topic, and then shoot milk out my nose watching Family Guy. I've partied like a rock star one weekend just to attend a Nutela and Wine party the next. Love being out but hate standing around drinking (throw a band or a pool table in somewhere, please). TV and I have a love/hate relationship. I read less than I want to but more than I think. Love riding my motorcycle, but hate riding for the sake (I like destinations). Love snowboarding (well there's no contradiction for that lol I just love it, well maybe that I never feel like I go often enough). I have high standards of behavior for myself and strangers in public but have no problem with debauchery among friends. I flip between NPR and rock. Love sleeping in, but hate wasting the day. Try not to speed too fast, but hate when there's someone infront of me. Want to travel the world, but not enough to go alone. And I want to fall in love but not just anyone will do.When it comes down to it, I'm a guy with many different interests just trying to be the best person he knows how and learning as he goes. For a first date? Something social, like diner (sushi :-) or an event. A hike is also good. Oh and pool or bowling. Basically, something active where we can talk and interact.

It may be like finding a needle in a haystack, but I'll give it a go. I believe people are basically good. On here? I believe people are basically on the skeptical/ jaded side, just have to get past it.Someone good out there for everyone I feel. I have my own home, great group of friends, and a good attitude. Chemistry ain't hard, it just happens.

Aside from typical things like movies and music, I really enjoy mountain biking, camping, fishing, my Jeep, art (my favorite artist is Rothko) going out to dinner and hanging out with friends, a good scotch and (rarely) smoking a nice cigar, watching Hockey and Buckeyes football. I'm looking for someone who enjoys some (but not all, I'm not looking for a relationship with myself) of these things as well.I have a very strong technical mentality but also have a creative side that doesn't get exercised nearly as much as I would like. I'm extremely patient but when it's time for something to happen, it's time. I like to discuss just about anything and believe that sharing opposing viewpoints stimulates your mind and keeps you open to new ideas. I'm trusting but move slowly into relationships. I believe that all people have good in them, regardless of whether they display it. I guess the biggest thing I can say about what I need in a partner is someone who is fine letting me be me and is easy to talk to. I mean, all of the things that makes a person him/herself is what makes them interesting. Right? It's pretty damn tasty! I'm not sure what I'm supposed to put here. What I'd like to do as a first date? How my first dates normally go? What you should know before a date? Maybe a little of all three. In a perfect world, a first date should be relaxed. Have a drink or two to get the blood flowing and relax a little bit. Talk about mutually interesting topics. Spend little time talking about things specific to yourself. I'd want to be really smooth, whitty and charming.... but I'm not smooth. Haha! I mean, I can manage charming sometimes and whittiness comes and goes but smooth, I am not. The truth is, I suck at first dates. I get better as time goes on, as I get more comfortable being around someone. I actually prefer dates that don't feel like dates, if that makes any sense.
