I am no way 55 physically and feel very young in spirit and am told look 10 years younger than my age. Don't let the age deter you. I am high spirited, spunky and full of energy. I love spending time with my partner and am happy doing pretty much anything, from going out to clubs or pubs, taking walks, outdoor venues, museums, socializing or just sitting at home watching a movie under a blanket. I love music (jazz, blues, house mix (electronic/techno), world music -WYCE), country if it's up beat. I love laughing, dancing, ice cream cones, chocolate covered nuts, dancing, socializing, quiet times, sharing a bottle of wine, especially with my toes in the sand watching the sunset. I love watching top fuel racing/jet cars (not sure where I got the love of powerful engines from but love the sound of power), airshows. I love snorkeling and seeing the wonders of the sea that you would normally only see on TV. One day want to Scuba dive. That would be incredible. I love helping people when they are down and out, or just a simple gesture of helping an older person by taking their grocery cart for them after they are done loading their car (You should see the shocked look on their face and then a big smile, heartwarming). I like just smile at people and say hi and see a smile come to their face.I LOVE intimacy, hugging, touch, holding hands, back rubs (giving and receiving) , passionate kisses, thunderstorms, walking in the woods, on the beach, traveling, cooking for and with someone, love quiet times with that special person, making the best of every new day and experiencing things I haven't in the 22 years I was married being pretty sheltered just being a mom. I am the mother of 2 boys, 22 and 24. I have a sensitive heart and I hate hurting anyones feelings, very conscious of that. That's what makes this dating stuff hard on me, someone ends up hurt if feelings are one sided. I thrive on taking care of a significant other. I am full of energy and seem to run on high speed most of the time. I will take on any home improvement job to update the house I purchased 2 years ago. needs major updating. I'm pretty independent when it comes to fixing and home improvements. Redid my basement last winter (out with the paneling, in with the dry wall) and mudded, sanded, primed and painted about 60 feet of drywall. Moving on to kitchen and bath in basement as this winter's project. Already cut down the bar 6", waaay to high. I rarely ask for help unless absolutely necessary (that's my only stubborn German trait). I may be able to do a lot of typical guy things but am very feminine at the same time. I love wearing just PJ bottoms and sweatshirt (preferrably my mans), as well as getting dressed up for a special occassion, heels and a skirt or dress.I hope to meet someone who also has a zest for life, "physically fit" is fairly high on my list but not a deal breaker, I love a sense of humor and loves to laugh, romantic, playful, spontaneous and treats his partner as if she is a special and important part of his life every day. I prefer short hair on a guy. Goatees always catch my attention along great smile and eyes. Looking for someone without a short temper, has energy, enjoys socializing, strong yet sensitive in private. Being able to "communicate and respect" in the relationship is huge to me only because of some past male anger issues. I am looking for a close relationship or great friendship that could evolve into something but I personally have to feel a spark within the first couple of dates. Looking forward to giving 110% to the man who loves affection (and a lot of it). I shoot a mean game of pool too, which I haven't played for about 20 years. Kinda like riding a bike I guess. It all came back. Tennis is another sport I enjoy. Was on the tennis team, 3rd singles, and swam the ***butterfly on swim team one year, ugh, that was torture. Would like to para sail and scuba dive someday. I am very adventurous and would try everything but sky diving and bungee jumping. I'm looking for that unique man who doesn't mind having a female friend and if he's dating someone, that his partner doesn't mind him having female friends either. If he's not dating anyone, friends is a good place to start, right? I know you're out there somewhere ....I like to think that I'm a woman of both worlds: "Old-fashioned" and "Modern".The "old-fashioned" part of me demands honesty, integrity, spontaneity, secure and independent, compassionate, adventurous, having old-fashioned values, loving life and God, gentlemanly attributes, reasonably intelligent, not afraid to communicate, having a positive attitude, fun sense of humor/playfulness, and non-smoking. Head games and jealousy are not allowed. I like the gentlemanly attributes of having my door opened, assistance with my coat and chair, and having a man stand when a lady leaves or approaches the table in public. To offset those things, I am a woman who is equally as comfortable in formal dress, wearing seductively short hemlines or any other attire as the occasion might require. I have always believed that how a man's lady is dressed and presents herself is a direct reflection on him. Now, if you're still interested, you deserve to know about the rest of me . . . I love music, dancing, cooking, swimming, movies/videos, theatre, singing, concerts and outdoors. I don't smoke. I like wine and some mixed drinks, but don't drink very often. I may be getting older, but I refuse to grow up! Life is too short ... eat dessert first!The "modern" part of me is a working professional. I am used to doing my own construction projects or remodeling, I know the basics of plumbing, carpentry and electrical, and I drive a pickup truck. I'm just as much at ease in a suit as I am in jeans. I'm VERY direct and to the point, outspoken, and won't tolerate lies or deceit. I'm spontaneous, playful, independent, love to laugh, love football, and I have a great attitude about life. I have a strong faith in GOD. I'm seriously compassionate about animals, children and senior citizens. I'm extremely independent, confident, open-minded, direct, honest, sincere and have lots of imperfections!Sounds too good to be true? Maybe I am or maybe not, but I think I am the best of BOTH worlds . . . the way a woman used to be and the way she can be today. My life is a lot of things, but never dull or boring. I have yet to meet the unique man who wants "the best of both worlds" in one woman. The first date would depend on what we have in common. It's great to go somewhere to talk, but to have other activities, too. It's great to eat somewhere that won't run you off and you can stay awhile. Going to clubs to listen to music or dance is great and if you want to talk and be heard, don't sit so close to the music source. I think going to the movies, a play or a concert makes a fun first date!

Let's go to the beach where we go shelling, or we sit and watch the sunset with a good bottle of wine as our only other companion. Let's go to Gallery Night with friends and hit up the Global Grill for tapas. What about camping down on the river where we can sit by the fire at night and listen to the hoot owls. Do you know how to canoe? Let's go. Let's rent a movie and cuddle on the couch with a bag of popcorn. Let's have the kids over for dinner, where you'll grill the steaks and I'll cook the sides than we'll sit around the table and laugh at our crazy family. How bout we go to church where we'll sit with your arm around me while we listen to a really good sermon, than let's grab lunch and hold hands across the table. Can we share a sweet kiss and a tight hug after we've both come home from a really long day at work. We can fix dinner together talking about our day while enjoying each other's company than settle in for a quiet evening at home. Won't it be nice to know that I've got your back and you've got mine. To look forward to the end of a long day because we'll know that the best part of the day is yet to come cause we'll finally be together. To look forward to snuggling in bed and doing whatever else might come to mind :) And hopefully the day will come where we can't imagine the world before Us and don't want to think about the world without Us! A great first date is anything that allows two people to get to know each other, have fun, and enjoy each others company.
