I am a social person who does her best to have a positive outlook on life! I was born and raised in the north so I have a huge appreciation of the outdoors. When I go home to visit my family I enjoy fishing or at least going out on the lake, swimming, going to camp - AKA the cottage - down here, going for walks, etc. I love my family, but since they live so far away from me, my friends are my surrogate family. I enjoy cooking and baking. I am not afraid to try a new recipe, but for the most part I will throw together ingredients that I have on hand, and am proud to say, most of the time my food tastes pretty good!I enjoy reading and writing which is very helpful seeing as I am still a student working SLOWLY on my MSW. I have a job that I am fortunate to enjoy, in the helping profession. I am passionate about the job I do and for the population with whom I work. Of course there are days that I wish I could have stayed in bed longer than I already had...I am the worse morning person!;)At the end of a difficult week, I absolutely love to go out dancing with my friends!! When I am listening to great music and dancing, all the stress of the work week is gone. I love reggae, hip hop, top 40, old 80s and 90s, some R&B....anything that has a beat that I can dance to.I love to travel...I get almost 6 weeks of vacation per year, so I enjoy my trips up north ( that should count as vacation right?), spring vacay's to the Caribbean, and any other trip that I can manage to go on! There is an entire world outside of this city, to see and enjoy. I try to be well-balanced in all areas of my life. I tend to be a pretty funny person. I love laughing and making others laugh, when appropriate of course. I can also laugh at myself...life is too short to be serious all of the time.I am of the opinion that everything happens for a reason, otherwise it would not happen right? Life should be lived well and enjoyed; learning something new every day...we should count our blessings, as we are all blessed in various ways. I appreciate the same qualities in others. There is a lot of the city I still have not seen and would love to explore. On a first date we could go somewhere different for a coffee or a drink. I think if there is mutual interest in getting to know each other further, we will know fairly quickly and can arrange to see each other again if we choose. Movies do not allow for talking so not good...and if you go for dinner... well if the mutual interest is not really happening...things may get a bit awkward. I am sure you would agree with me there:)

Hi, I'm a 36 year old single mom of 2. My daughter is 19 & in college & my son is 15. He does live with me but stays w/his dad alot. Needless to say I don't have babies anymore so therefore I don't do or tolerate childish games.; big blue eyes. I was in a committed relationship (or atleast I thought it was), for 17 years so needless to say being single again is a little scary. I am not a materialistic person but what I don't want or need in material things I do demand in how I am treated. I have no tolerance, patience or energy for anymore headgames, I did that for too many years & settled for how I was treated so needless to say I am at a point in my life where I know I deserve to be treated better so now I'm demanding it! I am a very straight forward honest person & I tend to come off sometimes a little brash but that's me. You pretty much get what you see. Most men have a preconceived misconception of what women think is attractive or sexy. All women are not the same, I find humor & stability to be a great turn on. I mean, don't get me wrong there definitely has to be a physical attraction as well on both ends or what's the point? I am not a vain woman by no means but I do know that I'm a GOOD woman & will one day be a great companion for the right person. One that deserves all that I have to offer which is alot. I love spending time with my family & friends but I also enjoy time alone w/someone as well, whether it be in a group setting or just cuddling up watching a movie. I love the beach or anything tropical & go as often as I can. I enjoy pretty much all types of music & for the most part am a simple person who tries 2 look at the positive in everything & everyone, & enjoy the little things in life. I love a man with a sense of humor, but can also be serious when needed. I have found in these last few months that life is too short to spend it alone, especially when I'm still young enough to enjoy it...... I'm just like any other woman. I do enjoy being wooed & made to feel special but also not trying to rush into anything. So we could do something simple like dinner or coffee. Anything where we can get to know one another & see where it goes from there.
