Hello, and welcome to another futile attempt at condensing an entire personality into a series of letters!I enjoy words, sometimes to my detriment. They colour my existence, provide me with the means to express myself, and occasionally land my foot squarely in my mouth...I can be extremely loud and outgoing, or quiet and reserved depending on my mindset and who I am with. As with anyone there are numerous facets to my personality and interests, so simply referring to myself as a 'geek', 'musician', 'artist', 'movie lover', 'foodie' or 'bookworm' doesn't actually say much.I like good conversations, witty retorts and making people laugh! I smile often, laugh easily, love fully, and seek joy in the little things. I'm fun, loyal, sociable and empathetic - maybe even a little old fashioned in my own way.Just about anything to do with travel, creativity, cooking, theatre, art or design, politics, nutrition / fitness, the environment, activism, science fiction, fantasy, zombies, dinosaurs, steam-punk / Victorian societies, existentialism, time-travel, the paranormal, Boba Fett, epic mysteries, vampires (that aren't sparkly), bacon, pirates, wizards, ninjas, Jedis, dragons, aliens, or dark and psychological plot-twists interests and entertains me!Mmm, bacon...I enjoy adventures, trying new venues or experiences, meeting people and learning new things. This year I want to go sky diving, and learn how to do yoga! Down the road I'm going to go backpacking in Europe and live in / see as many different parts of the world as possible.I'm open to pretty much any music, and find it fascinating how much what we listen to affects how we think and feel - there's nothing more satisfying than hearing the right song at the perfect moment!I love reading, but alas find it difficult to make as much time for it as I used to. I'll read pretty much anything when I get the chance tho, and love discussing plots and themes.Video games are fun on occasion and best with friends or turned into a drinking game - Super Smash'd Bros anyone?!I grew up gaming on the PC, and tend to gravitate towards titles that have a fascinating plot or unique artwork.Also, I can probably still beat Mario 3 and Zelda: the Ocarina of Time by memory! Ha.Some random favourite movies off the top of my head: -- Donnie Darko- the original Star Wars trilogy- Aliens / Predator films- Being John Malkovich- The Princess Bride- Spaceballs- The Matrix films- Kickass- Waking Life-- Garden State***Days Later- Fight Club- The 5th Element-- Snatch- Spirited Away- Pan's Labyrinth- Hot Fuzz- Death to Smoochie- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles- Se7en- the LOTR films- Stranger Than Fiction-- Where the Wild Things Are...I could easily go on haha, and enjoy films of pretty much any genre.I'm fond of hand-written notes, hugs that make you squeak, watching thunderstorms, and staying up late discussing life, the universe and everything - preferably sitting around a fire! I enjoy going on hikes or bike rides, and generally prefer playing sports to watching them on TV (not that I'm an amazing athlete, but I can be pretty competitive when it's all in good fun).Honestly I don't expect much from here, but remain open to being pleasantly surprised! I know my worth, and try not to expect anything that I can't offer myself (ie. perfection :P )Feel free to say hello, I don't get online too often, but will eventually! Something simple and casual that allows for conversation.A neat tea / coffee shop, a walk in a park or by the water, a photography adventure somewhere cool, or trip to a thrift store perhaps?I'm pretty new to the area, so surprise me!Spontaneity often leads to fun, be flexible.Individuality, confidence, and self control are key.I'm a sucker for pretty eyes, genuine smiles, unique opinions and colourful hair.A fellow nerd would be a huge plus.Tattoos and piercings can be the epitome of sexy.I have very little patience for people who are rude and deceitful...** Update: if I take forever to respond, it's because I don't have consistent internet access right now. What makes me unique? Other than having great peripheral vision, it is my ability to acknowledge my great peripheral vision. I am passionate about disaster relief and humanitarian aid. I have trouble sitting down and doing nothing with my life. I am constantly striving to learn and experience new things. I love to read or write in a small cafe sipping either on a laté or double alongé depending on the day and the company. I want to live and experience as much as possible. Money will always work itself out while doing what you love. Love getting my hands dirty. I love to cook from scratch for people while mixing up some drinks. I am always on the go with a dozen projects at the time. Lastly travel is key: my career and love will be founded on it. HiI'm Geoff!I really enjoy everything about music, so I might as well start with that. I write a lot of music for myself and I play guitar for a band that occasionally plays in Calgary. I'm learning (slowly) how to sing so I can sing for people at campfires, or just for fun...yetI read graphic novels more than actual novels, an expensive hobby but they keep my attention. I get distracted easily! I'm into fantasy and science fiction books when I decide to actually read a book. I try my best to eat healthy and exercise as often as possible, basically making positive changes to my everyday lifestyle. I'm over the party every weekend phase but I do enjoy an occasional drink with some friends, sometimes this does turn into partying but hey... I'm 25 not 89 : ) I do maintenance work at the University of Calgary. I like to leave work at work, and I like girls that can do the same. I will be going back to school shortly as well!I'm a really easy going guy and I can get along with pretty much anyone. I'm a little bit shy if I have to meet your whole group of friends, but I think that applies to a lot of people. I'm very ambitious to achieving things I want to succeed in, other than that I have a very care free attitude. I like honesty, so don't be afraid of "making me feel bad".I like cute girls who are happy, and have a positive outlook on life. I'd prefer a girl who knew what they want to do in life. Nice smile is a plus I'm trying to get into some new hobbies, just different things. Archery has been my newest obsession so if you can teach me a thing or two ; ) I would like to go ice skating, we could grab a hot chocolate afterwards and talk about how they should put more marshmellows in it.
