I'm passionate and opinionated, driven and determined, I sometimes talk too much, but I think I have interesting things to say. I'm not a religious person, but I do have morals and try to do the right thing, I can't stand sports. I'd much rather go to a concert than a ball game. I love to laugh and have a great (and slightly twisted) sense of humor. I have the biggest most wonderful group of completely dysfunctional friends who mean the world to me. I'm very happy with myself, but there is always room for improvement and I recognize those areas and do what I can to become a better person. I work hard and I study hard. I'm very independent and take a lot of pride in that, but I thoroughly appreciate chivalry.I'd like to meet someone with a great sense of humor. Life is boring without laughter. I'd like to meet someone who is just as content to spend an evening snuggled up on the couch, watching a movie as they are to go out to see some live bands. Someone who can, on a whim, decide to take a day trip. Someone who can hang out with my friends and I and have a good time over some beers and good conversation or for a game night. Someone with character, depth, and a passion for life and learning, someone who can form an educated opinion and talk about it - even if it's just a favorite band or movie.I'm very passionate about music. Some of my favorites include: The Clash, Dance Hall Crashers, The Specials, The Cure, Bad Religion, The Ramones, The Toasters, STP, Foo Fighters, Joy Division, Violent Femmes, Poe, Enigma, Mozart, Weezer, Bob Marley, Billie Holiday, Death Cab for Cutie, The Birthday Massacre, 80's new wave....the list goes on and on...I work in the social services field as a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist, teaching life skills to adults with mental illness. I just completed my Associates degree in Social Sciences and am continuing my education, studying Business Administration, part time. I work a second job slinging pizzas on the weekends. On top of all of that, I do some volunteering and fundraising and a little cake decorating on the side.I have a lot going on, but there's always room for more - especially when it's something that matters. If you're worth it, I'll make the time for you.A nice first date could start out with dinner so we could get to know a little more about each other, then perhaps on to a movie, or to hear a good band, or since the weather is getting nicer, maybe a round of mini-golf! An afternoon date is just as nice, meeting for lunch, or meeting at a park to walk my dogs and talk.

I have not had the opportunity to travel much, but plan on working in at least one trip a year. I like the mountains more than the beach, but my last trip was to Florida. It's hard to pick out a few interests but camping and hiking and picnics are things I have done in the past that I would like to continue to do. I enjoy browsing through antique stores and flea markets. I love to shop or use shopping as an excuse to get out and walk around. I've ridden motorcyles, too. My Momma once told me that cooking is an expression of love. I learned how to cook from her and my grandmothers. They were great teachers. Family is important to me. My Mom is the oldest of 10, and we have a reunion each year. Daddy was an only child. I like crafts and home projects. My daughter and I *** water heater ourselves! Daddy taught me the basics of car maintenance and can do a few things on my own. I even recently changed a headlight myself.I am looking for someone who is, after a reasonable 'getting to know each other' period, looking for marriage. I believe in the covenant and that it is God's plan for us. I also believe that, except in very rare cases, an age difference of more than five years has to be seriously considered due to where we are in our lives at certain ages. I have a picture posted, so you should have one, too - within a reasonable time frame. If your picture can't be posted for others to see, I probably don't want to see it either.I will respond to all messages, even if I feel that we are not a match. I would ask that you do the same. It's common courtesy and good manners. I'm a mature person and can handle acceptance or rejection. I do not feel it is fair deleting a message without reading it or reading without responding. You can say that no one ever said life is fair, but you should give a peson a fair shake. If you don't you could be missing the best that life has to offer.This is old and cliche' - coffee or a drink, and then maybe dinner. Going to the movies wouldn't give you much of a chance to talk and get to know each other. If you like to sing, maybe we could go for a jam session that I attend or karaoke.
