About Me

"We are all icebergs adrift in a dark and fluid sea. Our true scope hidden by the torpid surface. Frigid waters lap at us, seeking to draw us down into the crushing darkness, but we are buoyant, resilient. Pulled along by currents, control resides outside our being, yet we all have a home we sail from, and conversely a destination we aim towards. In this way we are alike. Slowly we roam, orienting ourselves to the subtle caresses of the inky waters, seeking comfort. On occasion we encounter others caught in their own tidal flows. Sometimes our encounters are terminal, inevitable, resulting in shattering climaxes as our structures crumble shard by shard into cold silence. Other times, encounters are more akin to an embrace; we brush past one another, altered in only that we are reminded are not alone in this desolate waste. Very rarely we experience hybrid encounters, crashing into others, not losing pieces, but exchanging, gifting away parts of ourselves, and in return our scars are filled in, made flush, healed. It is these encounters we long for, for they keep us afloat; we are renewed, made more complete, more seaworthy."I figured I should add some form of supplementary information to the above ramblings. Talking about yourself in quasi-objective terms is always an awkward time, so I've tended to put it off until some vague date. Just consider this a work in progress. What to say about myself? I am a grab bag of traits. Loyal, and passionate. Smart, and opinionated. My general disposition is friendly and outgoing and, tempered by a fair dash of shyness, and overall awkwardness, though I warm up fairly quickly. Despite being an English major, I tend to shy away from pretentious authors (I'm not sure why... I adore science fiction, and am fascinated by the complexities of the time travel trope. The philosophy student in me loves a good debate, and I can get quite passionate about my stance/argument. Thanks in large part to my brother I play video games fairly frequently, and prefer by a large margin PC to console. Most often it will be online with my brother and his friends in whatever the game Du jour is. I write, and am currently working on/editing a novel to mixed results. Hilariously, despite my aversion to pretentious authors/writings, my own work tends to read quite pompous at times. I'm trying to quell that inclination as best I can as I go along. I absolutely love movies, and more specifically, going to movies. I go with my family almost every weekend. It's one of the only long standing traditions we have, and it's consistently one of my favorite times of my week. I'm trying my best to get in shape. I enjoy free weights, and cycling. As an ex fat kid it's an uphill battle but one that I'm trying my best to commit to, though I will always have a love affair with unhealthy foods. It's hard to say what I'm looking for in a partner. I don't really have a type. It's quite easy for me to see the myriad of good qualities and traits in a person, and often that's enough. Compatibility as friends is vital, given that my partner is always my best friend. I'd prefer someone easy going, and easy to talk to, with an inclination towards similar interests obviously, but it is really not a deal breaker.*EDIT: If I've added you to my favorites without talking to you first, it's generally because as previously mention I'm shy/akws and need time to think what to say. I'm that cool. I swear to God I'm not a creep ;) Something laid back, and conducive to easy conversation such as patio drinks.

Alright to start off I'm going to use my Hail Mary and say I'm a hero. enough said there.I'm a Millwright or you can say I'm a industrial mechanic working at a place where if sh*t hits the fan a million or so people will be in a lot of trouble. So i better be good at my job..... lives are on the line lol. I've been there for 8 years and happy to be just mechanic but eventually i'll have to start climbing the ladder up and be some sort of boss. in time though, in time.I have a son, he is awesome and i try to see him as much as i can. I believe a father of the year candidacy will eventually be in my future haha. Those are real right? I also have two cats who my family rescued from a factory, no lies. Their good animals and a ton of laughs. They seemed to have warmed up real well too people after being feral cats their whole lives before we saved them. I'm a traveller, i like to travel a couple of times a year on my own or with others. i've been to 14 countries so far, not bad seeing how i became a traveller only a few years ago. i love sports. i'm stuck watching them for now until my shoulder is healed, its been busted for almost a year now but is getting better. my injury has left me a good amount of time to finish my basement. its going to be awesome with a 100" projection tv and a wet bar equipped with a keg. And much like everyone else i love my movies, music and books. The rest..... i guess you will have to find out. first date is all about getting to know someone so you need to go to a place where you can talk. once that is done if things are going smoothly then you may as well challenge one another to see who is better at pool, bowling, batting cages, ***meter sprint, who can jump the highest, who can hit the most cars with ketchup off an overpass lol just kidding
