About Me

I am truly a happy person and I would love to meet a special man with whom to share my joy. I am looking for a committed relationship, but hope to find someone who understands that relationships and the trust that goes with them take time. I'm willing to make the investment. I am looking for someone who gets that at this stage of life, wisdom accompanies recognition and acceptance of imperfection. Smiles come easy to me and a sense of humor in a man is essential. I have reached a point in my life where my time is free to dedicate on other pursuits after years as a dedicated, single mom. My daughter is fabulous and in college and I see her whenever I can. I create a busy life for myself, but don't be discouraged! I will reorganize to spend time with the right person. I am a passionate person, about many things. I hope you are too! I love to see live music (especially at outdoor venues), venture out to new places, take in festivals of any kind, stay in with friends by the pool or chiminea, travel to the lake, kayak, dance to country, blues, or just about anything. I work out regularly at a gym, sing in a choir, create unique, healthy and delicious meals and sample wine given any opportunity. I enjoy the outdoors, camping and even fishing. Quiet time by the lake or campfire is pure joy. Beaches are my preference. (Not much of a cold weather gal, but I have been known to read by the fire and work out in the gym to hang with the snow bunnies.) I'm a dog (not a cat) person (sorry I'm allergic). I like to travel but admittedly most of my travels have remained domestic. Hoping to expand those horizons.My friendships are extremely important to me and I am committed to maintaining them.I'm a hard worker and have a career that I thoroughly enjoy and in which I take pride. I like to believe that I make a difference in the world. My free time, however, is the most important time to me. I am an extrovert and people person and love engaging in conversation. I believe that communication is essential to any relationship.I am a strong person, probably a factor of many life challenges. I believe in doing the right thing. I am outspoken and direct.I do not debate politics, but if you can't tolerate a liberal mindset, we will not be a good match.I am looking for a true partner in a man, someone I know will have my back and I his. I have learned to open my heart and am excited about the prospect of someone truly touching it again. Mutual respect and support seem hard to come by at this stage of life and I wonder why that is. I'm willing to keep trying until I find him. Some of the qualities I look for in a man: funny, intelligent, self-confident, kind, appreciative and respectful of women. Above all, he should be a good communicator. I hope for a partner with whom the hours will race because there is so much to learn and understand about each other. I'm not one to pretend to please and do not misrepresent who I am inside and am looking for like qualities in a man. I like an accomplished man but run from arrogance and if you get that, bingo! I have a very down to earth nature.Finally, I am most attracted to men who lead a healthy lifestyle (meaning they take care of their minds and their bodies) and who are "gentlemen" in the old fashioned sense. In spite of my strength, I like to be treated like a "lady." Who doesn't like being made to feel special? Yes, I am a romantic. :-) I am also a realist.     I've been single for so long and have finally reached a point in my life where I'm only missing by better half. Kids are gone to college - actually I just got a raise ***graduated in May. Now I'd like to come home to a smile and a hug. I'd love someone who has a sense of humor and is quick to laugh. I do believe laughter is the best medicine. I also believe that communication is one of the keys to the beginning of a successful relationship and silence is a killer. Communication in every area is very important to me. Stability is very important and also someone who appreciates the little things in life and what we can do that compliments each other. I have a few girlfriends that have been around for ***years and I would like someone who has friends that are supportive of a relationship. I have a ton of sticktoittiveness and devote myself to my guy and am looking for the same in return. I'm a light drinker (most of the time) at this point, and want someone who has a good time without being trashed (although I've been known to forget how I got home a couple times). I'm faithful and a one guy gal and I'd like someone who cares enough that the thought of cheating isn't an option, because of us, not because of guilt from a previous relationship. I believe in treating someone the way you want to be treated. Have been divorced for 16 years......never thought I'd be single this long, but the right guy just hasn't knocked on my door yet.     I would like to think of myself as a very caring, gentle and outgoing person, a person very willing to do things for the next person. These past three years I have also had the opportunity to do some drag racing at Thunder in the Valley I have had the opportunity to do some bike riding and have my own chaps.It is a wonderful feeling riding behind someone on their bike enjoying the beautiful scenery as it goes by.I enjoy the sport of curling, and curled for approximately 25 years. Playing Ball was a big part of my life for quite a few years playing competitively and for fun and yes I do golf and have my own clubs but trust me in saying I am not great at it, but do enjoy going out for fun. I was raised on a farm, so I do know what work is and am not scared of it. I presently live on the family farm but adapt very well to city living but preferrably would think of myself as a small town girl. Have always loved horses and use to do lots of riding at one time. Enjoy also going to rodeos/stampedes and really enjoy watching pro chuckwagon racing.- my Shih-Tzu. I am of Ukranian heritage, enjoy cooking, have been told that I am a good cook and of course to me there isn't anything too much better than good old Ukranian food. My friends tend to call me saucy because I like to make cream sauces for alot of the dishes. I also enjoy going to Farmers Markets on Saturdays which I try and hit every Saturday unless I have plans that is of course. I have alot of wonderful friends which have been a part of my life for many many years and have told me that I have alot to offer that special someone. Like to go for Wing Night once a week with friends. I enjoy country music as well as the 60's,70,s and 80,s music and do enjoy dancing very much and have been told I am a pretty darn good dancer. One of my all time favorite singers would have to be Neil Diamond. I have been at my job for 35 years now and hoping one day to retire. I am here looking for someone thats wanting a long term relationship as well. I do realize they have to start somewhere, but hey if your not wanting that for you, I would rather you move on and not waste my time. I do like romance and of course every girl likes to be spoiled or pampered every now and then but think its wonderful when the gentleman can still open the car door or surprise you with flowers.
