About Me

I am somewhat conservative in lifestyle, yet more liberal in beliefs.Enjoy a variety of activities- walking in a park/trail, walking the beach-- pizza to lobster tail, watching fireworks, outdoor concerts, movies (like the drive-in especially),cultural events-theater, museum, parks.... maybe a picnic, casino, go to open area and watch the stars, weekend/day trips, board games/family games, and especially spending time with family and friends. Work part-time in summer and tend to vacation/relax the rest. Holidays are special-spend them as family- and willing to spend them with yours as well. Volunteer for Special Olympics-coach soccer.I enjoy my job and supervise some after school activities. Work in northeast corner. Enjoy seeing kids sports- grandniece is in gymnastics. Coached sports through town leagues in years past, have been a member of town committee to address barriers for those with disabilities, and had been "friend" for 10 years to an adult with a developmental disabilty until he passed away(he was a true blessing in my life).!! Love having Sunday morning coffee while watching Sunday Morning and/or reading paper. Tend to eat more vegetables, pasta, and poultry...not a big red meat eater but you can be. Read more books during the summer months. Enjoy music--flops and dread wearing socks and shoes!! Would love to explore kayaking, cross country skiing/snowshoeing, and other activities with SO. I am open-minded to learning new things, seeing new places, participating in new adventures. Love being in an area where I get to be entrenched in nature..... Everyday I drive through the rural area to get to work and it is an enjoyable drive... understanding that it takes time to get to know one another and commit. Sense of humor a must. Gentleman, but not snobby. If you have a need to have your cellphone on and always looking at it while out with me/others, we are not compatable. Compatibility is essential. Family oriented- family/children are not baggage, they are a blessing!! Can we go out one evening and dig in the garden the next day? Jeans or a comfortable jacket and tie when needed? Would you be willing to wash pots and pans? Laugh the night away? Bucket list- Enjoy, appreciate, and plan future with husband; African safari; volunteer- community/environmental in another country/area yet explored; horseback ride on a beach;; visit new places; sky dive(once may be plenty); develop gardening skills; work artistically with glass- blown or fuse; enjoy warmer climates so may want to retire to a warmer climate. Appreciate all that life has to offer.. big and small, exciting and the mundane.*****Life is more about who you are with(caring, loving, communicating, appreciating, compromising, giving) rather than what you are doing... would love to share any or all of the above and so much more with my SO. Come grow old with me, the best is yet to be. (borrowed words)***** First date ..... breakfast, lunch,or dinner, a walk, enjoy an activity together...... I'm open to ideas..... somthing that gives us opportunities to talk, relax, and enjoy the time. Would like the date to be a memorable one!

I'm able to describe what I DON'T want in a man. Not interested in a man with a comb over, long grey ponytail, shuffles when he walks, wears his pants up to his chest, can no longer move his neck, loves opera and elevator music, bed time is 9:00 pm with nothing to drink after 5:00 pm, has to reassure me they are "hip" and "with it", can't get their wardrobe out of the 70's as well as their hair, is an introvert, can't text because the "typewriter" keys are too small...I'm just not going there! There are some characteristics I would prefer in a man. Interested in a man with very short hair or bald (sweet), no ponytail, can walk with little difficulty, can wear jeans and look good in them...I'm not talking showing butt crack or your boxers look, can still move his body as well as neck, likes good music, loves comedy and laughter, laid back, is an extrovert, loves affection, cuddling, is romantic, not afraid of public affection, happiest doing the simplest things together. I'm not impressed by trying to impress me with the finest dining, the best clubs, freak'n opera, your many tuxedos, etc. I gave up my designer clothes and stilettos...I'm pretty content with casual and would prefer to keep it that way!...we are talking first date! I'm very simple...Hanging at the pool to keep up the tan lines, a little swim, great conversation with, hopefully, great humor, maybe a drink or two. I think that's how you get to know someone...keep it simple.

I'm a journalist and historian by training. I teach high school & have a son,17, who still lives at home.I love to keep busy and laughing. How?! Planning fun activities: beach, a good comedy at the movie theater, and a hearty belly laugh. I love to get silly. Don't get to do that enough--do you?!I don't watch much t.v., but I do like educational shows, history shows & good movies. Moreover, mornings with a good cup of coffee & the paper is nirvana. I am pretty simple when it comes down to it and I promise the same in return--to be joyful & lots of warm embraces.Traveling (have passport) is a passion and so is genealogical research. And I like working out at the gym, too, but haven't gotten back after I broke my foot because I know pain awaits.I am a Midwestern girl, so I like going to tractor pulls and fishing on ponds. I like to pick strawberries and husk corn. I like bonfires and weenie roasts (my fire pit or on the beach). Love to throw a party or do a "girls night out" at my house. I like to bowl, dance, walk and swim. Most other sports I am happy being a fan. I do drive a mean golf cart, though. My family, my job, learning new things are all high priority for me. I am just a woman who loves life! I love museums, too. One of my goals is to go back to Vatican museum someday. I love going to concerts and plays, too.Looking for that final date, but I am realistic (and yet believe God has plans for me), so, until then I would be satisfied with a dating partner; a committed companion -- or how about someone to have coffee with on Saturday morning first?!If he happens to be kind, honest, spiritual (to me that means a practicing Christian who attends church and likes it) and really a believer in Jesus. He must be totally monogamous-minded; employed (early retired would be considered), I like men who know their way around a tool box, and ideally, he would not only be dedicated but also "easy on the eyes" (oh, I do love the blue eyes and dimples--and I like BIG men, too).Well, if he's all that, then, I guess I might want more than coffee ;)I lost my teen-aged daughter to a brain tumor two years ago. So, no day is perfect. But Christ is my constant. It is He that I think of and cleave to and desire--looking forward to the day when we are all reunited. Oh, an ideal first date?!That would have to include not feeling too exposed...it is hard to put yourself out there for possible rejection.I enjoy laughing and good conversation. That's a good start. And if we're clicking, maybe we can decide to grab a bite to eat later. Burger Fy comes to mind.Don't be afraid to be impromptu.Oh, and make me want to kiss you goodnight...but make me wait. I like a little teasing! ;)
