About Me

I think I'm a nice, charming, laid-back person and I really like it when people can be themselves around me. I value nice weather, spending time with family and friends, traveling (I get to travel pretty frequently, for both business and pleasure), and new experiences ;)I've lived in DC for 3 years now. I like it, there are definitely some wonderful things about DC, but in my opinion the cost of rent is absolutely not worth it. I definitely don't see myself settling down here. People are too high-strung, obsessed with work, and always in a hurry. I also don't like how pretentious some people can be here (cliquey, obsessed with appearances, etc...). Ideally I would be somewhere much more laid back and less crowded. I've lived in cities for the last 7 years, and now I really appreciate going home and smelling the fresh air, going outside at night and hearing NOTHING but the crickets, etc. The west coast is definitely on my radar for the future. Perhaps if you value the same things we would be off to a good start!I'm currently studying for the GMAT - planning to enter MBA school in the Fall of ***.Fun facts:I love music - anything from Pink Floyd and the Beatles to top 40, classical to reggae (especially CA or HI reggae).I love to cook (and I'm pretty good at it).Your mom would love me (don't ask me why... they all do...)I love watching football and hockey (born in the area, so I've been a Skins/Caps fan all my life), so if you like sports we'll probably get along.     I'm currently going for a business degree in either entrepreneurship or management, haven't decided between the two of those yet. I am taking night class because I also have a full time job so that I can pay for college. I work at 1st Source Bank currently and hope to learn as much while I'm there as possible or if anything continue to grow and learn there and advance my way in 1st Source when I earn my degree.A lot of my time is currently spent on school and work as you can see, but I also make time for myself to do rest and have fun. I love hanging out with my friends. I have the best group of friends that anyone could ask for. I know that if I ever have a problem I could go to ANY of them and they would never turn their back on me just as I would never turn my back on them. Anytime I have the opportunity to get together with them I know we are always going to have fun and laugh our asses off.Currently last year I decided to go follow one of the goals that I had for myself. I love to watch the game of tennis whenever I get a chance. Last year I decided to actually learn how to play tennis. I figured I was it enough when I can that I wanted to learn as well. So I found a local park that offers lessons and I started that. I'm no where near great but I'm enjoying playing and learning and I'm gonna continue to improve this coming year as well.Another part of my life that I can't live without is music. I love listening to music any chance I can get. It's an odd ability but I can listen to one song constantly for an entire day. I end up singing along with songs as I listen to them more and more as I learn the words. I'm honestly a terrible singer but I love to do it anyways. When it's summer and I have the windows down in my car, the music going and I'm singing along, getting the person in the car to stare next to me always makes me laugh. It doesn't bother me if they stare because I'm just being myself.I'm a really nice guy, and I know what they say about nice guys, that they finish last. But there's two sides to this expression that most people over look. Even though the nice guy might finish last, they do finish regardless though. I know I'll find my guy sometime even if it means finding him a long time down the line. And I can't wait to meet him :)I'm currently looking to get to know people on here, even if it's just talking to get to know each other. I'm looking for the future and want to find that one guy that I can spend my life with. The main quality in a guy that I want is knowing that they will always be by my side as I will be there for him. I think it's a simple quality to have but apparently it's a little harder to come by than what I thought. Someone around my age would be awesome but that's not necessary, just as long as you're not old enough to be my dad. Sorry not looking for someone that old. For a first date I would be up for anything. If we wanted to do the classic dinner and a movie that would be awesome. If we decided to do something a little more adventurous like maybe go to a football game or basketball game I'm game for that as well. Maybe a walk along a beach and talk. The important part of the date for me is the opportunity to talk with and get to know who I'm with. As long as we have that and are having a great time then that is a great first date.

    I enjoy being outdoors (things like camping and hiking). I would really like to go rock climbing, but I haven't had the chance to do that. I love to research random things that happen to pop into my head when I'm doing mindless work (Google is my best friend). I love to watch horror movies (Halloween, Friday the 13th) and television shows that are aimed at my level of interest and intellect. I think the idea that a "man in the sky" created the earth and the universe, in 6 days, is absolutely far fetched and ridiculous.     I thought the one word thing was kind of odd. I'm really more of a crafty hippie/nerd/bookworm who moonlights as an athletic, free-thinking treehugger. But I'm not a foodie, even though I work in food service.I'm into social dancing (mostly Contra, but I do some East Coast Swing from time to time) and try to get out at least once a week. I also spend a good bit of time reading and playing computer games. I commute by bike, and sometimes go on longer trips. I would go for coffee or dinner; something where we can actually get to know each other. After that we could wander around or do some sort of light activity - again, communication is key.
