Hi. I’m a professional with no children, one dog. I'm looking for friendship and maybe a close relationship, if things pan out. I put "long-term relationship" as my goal, but friendship and/or short or medium-term relationships are fine, too. I like getting to know people in writing first, getting to know them from "the inside out," so to speak, rather than the usual way. If that bothers you (I've noticed a lot of women want to jump straight into dating or aren't inclined to write more than two sentences), we probably aren't a good fit. I like expressing myself in writing and I like getting to know someone that way before starting to date. The profile asked me to pick one word to describe myself, and I picked "animal lover," because I have a heart for animals (dogs in particular), but other good words might've been "nomad," "freethinker," "bookworm," "geek" (I prefer "nerd," thank you), or "homebody." The word I would've picked would've been "introvert." Don't misunderstand; I'm not shy. I just enjoy time alone and don't have a big need for socializing. I can find lots of social activity draining. I get along well with other introverts. I have been in good relationships with extroverts, too, but inevitably there is a tension between their need for busy social activity and my need for quiet time alone. I’m a good person, kind and smart, with a good sense of humor. I enjoy simple things like nature, music, TV/movies, books, food, games, pondering, naps... My favorite thing is a big chunk of time when I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. Hobbies: I'm planning for the future, thinking through the possibilities. I read some psychology, self-help, spirituality, some other stuff. I enjoy hanging out with my dog. I watch TV, play games, and mess about on the 'net. My music tastes run toward the quiet, atmospheric, ambient stuff that you can have on in the background while you are doing other things. On TV or movies, I like comedy and dramas. I've watched a lot of crime drama and comedy lately on Netflix. I am in good financial shape and would prefer a woman who has her financial house in order, more or less. In conversation, I like talking about personal or at least meaningful things, rather than lots of chit-chat. I am honest. I'm not tactless; actually I'm pretty sensitive to others' moods and feelings. Don't get the impression I am super-serious -- I like to joke around and laugh a lot. Physically, I am probably 20 or 25 pounds overweight. I get moderate exercise and am reasonably healthy, but I probably wouldn't be a good match for someone who's really focused on fitness and athleticism. Just not my thing. I'm also a little on the short side (5' 7"), so pass me by if you're looking for tall, dark, and handsome.’ve lived for the past 15 years. I probably see the world through less conservative/traditional eyes than most of the people around here. I have too much of the west coast in me to really fit in well here, but that's okay. People around here seem to be pretty accepting, for the most part.I suppose that gives you some inkling of who I am. If you’d like to talk, just drop me a note. If not, best of luck in your search. Who knows. Whatever's comfortable.
