Hoping to meet someone "normal", smart, kind, warm, and attractive. Occasionally funny. That should do it. Does that sound like you? About me: I try hard to be kind, ethical, considerate, and sensitive...really. I'm trying to learn to live more in the moment, *** being constantly concerned with the big picture. Would probably help if I didn't read 5 newspapers online every morning, but I guess there are worse addictions. I also read a lot of fiction- usually a book a week. Mix of quality literature and lowbrow crime, spy, and adventure novels. I read and like Buddhism as a guiding philosophy- the idea of not being too attached to your own beliefs, and desires (I think that's Buddhism, right?) but I'm not religious at all. I do respect others' beliefs, because "who knows." I volunteer at the humane society weekly- with the bigger dogs that a lot of the older volunteers can't handle. Plan to get another dog one of these days...my resistance is weakening...but, I'd prefer a girlfriend to a dog at this point, and will avoid the easy jokes. How about a girlfrend with a dog...that would work. Don't get the wrong idea- I love humans too, including the small variety.I'm in-shape and healthy, exercising at the gym 3x weekly, and I try to swim laps on Saturdays. I also eat really healthy, but am lazy about it- meaning Amy's organic frozen meals as opposed to cooking. Oatmeal for breakfast with blueberries- with occasional egg-white omelettes on weekends. Too much information? I'm pretty much retired, having managed and owned property- in partnerships- in NY for many years. Now I just manage my investments, and have my hand in a few other small start-up ventures on a leisurely basis. I tend to be very honest in relationships, since hiding things just ends up causing more pain than the initial discomfort, or even rejection, that sometimes results from being honest.I do enjoy my occasional time alone, and don't mind going to a movie or restaurant by myself- usually sit at the bar, or sushi-bar- love sushi. I'm pretty good at finding the balance in a relationship between togetherness and "space." At least that has never been an issue. On that note, I'm not a Sunday football nut. That's good, right?I'm very close to my 2 siblings, and dad, all of whom live nearby, and usually see them at least once a week when we rendezvous at my dad's for dinner.My photos are from Sept. ***. My friends would say that I am fun to be around – which I’m guessing is why we are friends. I say the same about them. They would also say I’m intelligent, optimistic, way too honest, generous and fair, and a good sense of humor. I wonder if they’d say I’m charming and lovable?
