Friendly, loving, slightly impatient, kind, smart, inquisitive, genuine, serious, funny. I am kind hearted and quick witted. I love philosophical and religious discussions as well as laughing as much as possible. I try to live every day to the fullest and try not to take the important stuff for granted like life, health, loved ones.I titled myself 'sapiophile' from the drop-down menu because I didn't see anything I truly related to otherwise. I'm not that well-versed but I am very quick to catch on and love to learn. I like trying new things, going places I haven't been, meeting new people. I am happy being in a crowd of people or being alone. I am a very well adjusted person for the most part. But, lean toward being a type A personality. I have no weird kinks or habits (at least none that I have been made aware of). I hope to always be learning something in life - growing spiritually and mentally. I have no need to try and change or control anyone or for anyone to try to change or control me. I am told I do look like my photos (or better) and they are current. I'm not perfect but I am happy and I am real. I am fairly slender and active but am working on being more athletic.-seeing, etc.Perhaps I am one of the few but I have never been drawn to 'bad boys'. I like honest, kind, sweet men who are secure in who they are and don't have a need to prove something to others. I have always been a go-getter, taken care of others and myself and like people that have a lot of energy to put into life. I like people with a high IQ and an even higher EQ and just get life without a lot of explanation. I’ve yet to meet a man who was immediately drawn in by the fact that I love to read or take long walks/jogs through the park, so I’ll save that scintillating info for later.About YOU: This is important stuff!! I'm interested in a man who is an intelligent, well-educated professional.. Who makes me laugh...and maybe a little tingly... Look, let's get honest here - Everyone has his/her preferred "type" by this point in life and while I'm flattered, mine is not the cowboy-type, nor is it the guy with multiple pictures of his motorcycle or "selfies" half-nude in the bathroom mirror.     I work to live in the moment and appreciate every day. I am a true optimist. I have a great sense of humour and I am generally easy going. I am also passionate about many things— now there's a subject for conversation! I practice Vipassana meditation, and strive to live my life fully SInce my degree, training and much of my life has revolved around music, it forms a big part of who I am. One of the passions in my life. Not one you need to share necessarily, appreciate perhaps, participate in even better...I love listening to jazz, blues, folk, and classical music of many kinds from chamber ensembles to gregorian chant –don't groan– only in the morning, or maybe late at night– I can use headphones. I also like silence. I usually prefer a book to a movie but I can be convinced to watch if I am in the mood. I do enjoy quirky–– movies, documentaries,and english comedies. I'm not much of a tv watcher either except for english murder mysteries.I enjoy discussing a lot of subjects– an intellectual but not a snob. Who doesn't enjoy travel? Exploring new places together, seeing unique sites, animals, cultures, architecture, history, museums, plays, music. Going off the beaten path. Designing our own bike tour or just taking off? (I tend to be a spontaneous person which probably means I benefit from someone with his feet pretty solidly on the ground??). Going on a paddling adventure out my back door. Near or far, exploring new places and things together keeps us young and vital! After working as an educator within the school system for many years I am now taking time out to write a book – yes, it's a murder mystery (of course), although a sci-fi/fantasy was my second choice. I am generous and loving, very loyal and honest, creative, courageous but not reckless. I enjoy exploring new ideas and pursuing a variety of different interests which makes me interesting and independent. I hope you are too. I love time spent together sharing things we both enjoy and enjoying alone time, although having you nearby doing your own thing but still on my radar is rather nice. If you are optimistic (or at least a hopeful pessimist ), confident without being arrogant, compassionate and caring, smart and curious, and have a sense of humour, I would love to meet you. I am easy about the chemistry thing – it either is, may be, or won't be. No harm done. Polite and we move on. OKay with you? Cheers Something active sometimes makes it easier but a thermos of tea and a favourite spot or the local Bistro for a chat works well too. I'm open to suggestions.
