About Me

I am very down to earth and looking for the same in a funny, artsy, funky, educated guy. I think I'm a bit off beat, maybe a bit eccentric. Ordinary mainstream stuff is a bit annoying to me. I like the dives, the one offs and the unique things in life. I am a foodie and love trying new restaurants and flavors. I wish I could save the world (or at least educate and pull everyone out of poverty) but it's too big, maybe just a soul here and there. I love my volunteer work in the city mentoring fifth grade girls and sticking with them through school so that most of them attend college. Maybe I can make a bit of a difference but I have found that you can only try to be a catalyst. The real difference has to be made by the subject himself. And the truth is, you just have to accept that you tried your best, which isn't always easy. My last big trips were Thailand and India just wish I could be a full-time nomad. I love seeing new places and cultures and learning new things.I need a quick wit and a sharp sense of humor. I find those things A-MAzing. I might have some of those qualities but only if you bring it out in me. I have to admit I feed off of a certain type of energy vibe. It's pretty intense when I find it. You have to be comfortable in your own skin. Be authentic.So I am looking for a fun partner who has class, finesse and style and is preferably tattoo-free. Hopefully you'll enjoy foreign and independent films, dining where there is a real chef with fresh ingredients, being in nature and just being generally spontaneous and free-spirited. Chemistry of course we've heard about ad nauseum, but I seem to either have *** for someone or I try to convince myself to give it time and it never really seems to happen. How sad really that our checklists just don't work. Pheromones...a small hex on us all. So I am a very passionate and sensual person and need the same. I love snuggling and finding my favorite little tasty morsel of you. I am extremely close with my family and friends and hope you also have a good support system. I won't be giving them up for anyone so if you don't know how to share it won't work out.I don't play games and don't appreciate someone who does the push/pull thing so I aim for a peaceful relationship without much drama. I hope to find someone to truly give my love to - someone that appreciates me the way I am and returns the same. I want to help nurture someone, encourage new interests, and be supportive as I wish my partner to be with me. Humor is of course an essential ingredient to any relationship and there is absolutely nothing better than a good laugh. I love being silly and I'm quite quirky.     Are you ready for the great outdoors with a twist? Because not only do I practically live outdoors, but as a college science professor I can be your own personal nature tour guide. One of my favorite pastimes is hiking on the Billy Goat Trail looking for glimpses into the lives of the plants and animals there. To the bemusement of my friends and fellow hikers I have often danced with joy at the site of a slug munching a shelf fungus or an opportunity to learn more about the mating habits of cicadas.I am also a huge fan of swimming in the ocean eyes open looking for a cool jellyfish or perhaps a sting -Despite my scientific side, I can downright silly. Most summer evenings I can be found in the pool with a circle of my closest friends cutting up until we laugh so hard we’re getting water up our noses. (I think the lifeguards have finally come to realize we are not actually drowning.) I also love joking around and playing with my nephews, as it is a great excuse to continue climbing trees. (I was very tickled when my seven year old nephew recently asked me if I was a teenager!) I find any movie with Adam Sandler or Will Ferrell wildly funny.My guy is warm, affectionate, family oriented, and dog friendly. He loves the outdoors, traveling, and has a positive outlook on life. He is intelligent and enjoys a philosophical conversation, but has a sense of humor as well.’ So tell me about you and what you enjoy doing? Where would love to travel to?
