About Me

I am a nature-oriented person and perhaps happiest on a good hike in the wild. Still, I spend most of my life in the city and appreciate what it has to offer, particularly if good food and music are involved. I am fairly active, enjoying travel and exploring other cultures, skiing, rafting, attending the arts, hanging out with friends, etc., however I am in general rather low-key and tend to prefer quiet, intimate settings where I can enjoy a good conversation. I often listen to NPR, but I also listen to a wide-). I also enjoy reading a good book or watching a good movie and although I enjoy cooking, I mostly make it up "on the fly" with good success - and the occasional disaster and home run. I probably should use my many cookbooks more often.I try to stay healthy by exercising regularly and although I appreciate its challenge and benefits and enjoy it for its own sake, I do not regard it as a hobby or interest. I am athletic, but not an athlete, and although I enjoy watching a good football game, the world cup, and the Olympics, I am not very sports-oriented. Schooling and my job have drawn me to these places - and other adventures. I am very lucky to do for a living what I dreamed of doing as a kid. I am not a man of faith, but, respect and share in the effort to find meaning in our lives and to live purposefully. I am open to dating someone who lives by faith so long as we can agree to honor each other's paths.Like (most) everyone else, I am hoping to find someone with whom I can deeply connect with and share in life. For me that would be a woman who has many common interests and some new ones (to me) and is curious, compassionate, and independently-minded.     Divorced (Jan ***father of a young adult daughter that lives nearby. I miss the beach, fishing, crabbing, clamming, and just hanging out on the water. Doesn't look like I will ever own a boat around here so I took up motorcycling *** check out the local attractions, shows, museum exhibits, and restaurants. Beautiful scenery out there, especially on a bike. It would mean a lot to me to share that with the right lady.I run to keep in shape. But the running gives me the endurance I like.
