About Me

I'm an extremely busy professional but getting close to retirement,who is extremely independent, (set in my ways - where's the font setting? I'd prefer that in small print), financially secure and emotionally stable. I have a never ending desire to experience it all. I will try anything that sounds like fun - the unique or even the unusual. Very young at heart - need someone similar and close in age! I'm confident but I'm not stuck on myself. I know my strong points but it gets better - I know all my faults too (but I certainly won't be spilling the beans here! Not on purpose anyways!)I suppose I should get some things out of the way - for *** is a dating site and we won't all click with each other. We all know what we are and aren't looking for. For me and my hectic schedule - long distance romance will most likely leave us both frustrated. Also I date within my age range - plus or minus about 5 yrs. or so - that will most likely assure that we are close to being at the same stage in life. I'm also not here to chat, kill time, play games etc - I truly am super busy and I really know what I want. If you've lied about anything in your profile - age, marital status, self sufficiency etc - it definitely won't go over well. And believe me I know how cold and impersonal this sounds and it is so sad that it's totally necessary - but I've been here a while and I'm not interested in settling ~ I'll wait for the real deal. ( P.S. the real deal will have read my profile and feel like he knows me and he'll put some thought into communicating intelligently and unoffensively)Although the past has shaped us into who we are today - I would prefer to leave the past behind as much as possible. I'm friendly still with those who I've had relationships with in the past but I'm completely over any romantic attachments I may have once felt. I don't want to spend too much time thinking or talking about where I've been and I'm not really overly interested in hearing the blow by blow details of someone elses missteps. I've come here unattached and very ready to check my baggage. I'm active - enjoy being fit and need someone who is able to keep up with me. You MUST be social and able to communicate effectively!! Although psychic phenomenon intrigues me - I have to admit that I am not very good at reading minds or even reading between the lines! I have had difficulty in the past because I listened to words and didn't pay attention to actions that didn't match the words. But wisdom comes with age truly is the case. I say what I feel and do what I say! It really is that simple. Although I am a nurturer at heart, I would prefer that you be self sufficient, I want to hang up my mothering hat for a while, if you know what I mean! If you cook that's a plus. I'm a simple gal when it comes to food - I think my smile is my best feature and I could lose myself in an expressive set of eyes! An impish smile and a great sense of humor are both a plus. I can tell a great story. When something goes wrong, I'm usually capable of laughing it off and announcing that "This too will make a great story ... someday!" I am not too much of a homebody although I enjoy being home working on a project or in the yard but I love to travel ... 5 star accommodations not necessary. I live on a lake ~ finally in my dream home. Love the outdoors ... beaches, boating, hiking, rock climbing and long walks with the dogs! Although I enjoy being fit and active - I'm not very good at winter sports - the MRI of the knee after snowboarding with my daughter proves as much! Like snowmobiling, jet-ski's and spending time with family and friends - playing cards, board games or charades. I enjoy playing racquetball and volleyball through the local Park & Rec drop in program. I also enjoy a good game of cutthroat setback and am on a setback league. I enjoy an occasional "Girls Poker Night". I like to watch sports at times - I'll bet on anything for fun - football, "March Madness" and whether the moon will be out tonite! I'm slightly competitive (font setting???) but I'm never a sore loser. It really is all about having fun.I have a diverse and interesting collection of friends which makes me gravitate towards people who are not bigots or judgmental. I love to laugh and get along best with people with a good sense of humor.I can be passionate about a lot of things and stubborn at times. (Still haven't found that font setting! LOL ) I am honest, loyal and trustworthy and always about 10 mins late. My Dad used to say I'll be late for my own funeral and I'm hoping to prove him right on at least that point! I'm very close to my family - I come from a very loving background. One brother, one sister, nieces, nephews - a beautiful daughter, my Mom - they are very important to me. My Dad recently passed and we alI miss him terribly.I am open to but not necessarily looking for a serious relationship at this time and I certainly don't need to be rescued, I am open to spending quality time with the right man for me. Although I do consider myself a realist when it comes to the dating scene - I have to admit that I secretly hope that the man who can make me go weak in the knees is not just a figment of my imagination.

    OK here it goes and I will try to describe myself to the best of my ability.........In my opinion I am not your typical middle aged woman. Yes I said "middle aged", yikes!! I am very active and am looking for the same in a partner. My personality is outgoing and I can make myself at home just about anywhere. I enjoy the local pubs as well as the upscale restaurants.
